ALEX Neil provided an update on Derek Mazou-Sacko and Zak Sturge, who sustained injuries in Millwall’s 3-1 loss to Portsmouth.
Sturge was stretchered off the pitch in the 37th minute after being hit in the face with the ball from close range, and Joe Bryan took his place.
Neil clarified that it was probably a concussion.
“I believe so,” Neil answered. “We employed a concussion sub, which is why we put so many players on. So we utilized an additional one.
“I feel that if he sustained a concussion or was unconscious at any time, that is the only way we could use it. That’s why I said it doesn’t appear to be a muscular injury.
Mazou-Sacko was replaced by Dan Kelly in the 55th minute after sustaining a leg injury.
“It appears he’s planted his knee,” Neil said. “It was a dirty challenge in the middle of the pitch that I believe their lad got away with, which was frustrating. It doesn’t look good right now, but I’m not sure.
