Middlesbrough has made its position clear about Rob Edwards’ move to Wolves, with Steve Gibson apparently refusing to start any transfer discussions with the Premier League team.

Edwards’ return to Molineux, where he previously worked as both a player and a coach, may make sense for him personally, but it has effectively ended any goodwill from Boro. The new Wolves manager is a major fan of Hayden Hackney and Dael Fry, but promotion-chasing Middlesbrough will not sell, particularly to him.
According to sources, Gibson has already cautioned Edwards against attempting a raid in January. Even if Boro consider selling one of their primary assets, Wolves will not be the team with whom they deal.
