In light of the fact that Mohamed Salah’s future at Liverpool is still uncertain, Michael Owen has divulged the information that he receives from’sources’ regarding the contract situation at Liverpool.
In the current season, the 32-year-old player is in the final months of his contract at Anfield, which pays him £350,000 per week. During this season, he has scored 32 goals and assisted 22 others for Liverpool, who are currently in the lead in the Premier League.
As things currently stand, the Egyptian will leave on a free transfer in the summer, joining Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is being strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid, a club that is considered to be among the most powerful clubs in Spain.
It is worth noting that Michael Owen, a former striker for Liverpool, asserts that Mohamed Salah has expressed his desire to remain with the club beyond the summer season. However, according to Owen’s source, the club and the player are still “quite a way apart.”
“Mo Salah is such an intriguing individual. The statement was made by Owen to talkSPORT. “I think Mo Salah wants to stay, in fact I’m pretty sure he wants to stay,” Owen said.
I believe that Liverpool will be required to make a small concession to the rules; they might say something along the lines of, “Oh right, only two years for players of this age.”
Therefore, he is not a typical player; he is as fit as a flea, he is committed, he spends his entire life in the gym, and he is extremely professional. When you tell me that he is not going to be at the same level in three or four years, you are not being honest with me.
As a result of the fact that he is simply unbelievable, I would be willing to break the rules and give him the contract, including the duration of the contract.
As for me, I’m not the kind of person who would say something like, ‘Just give him what he wants, he’s brilliant, we’ll win the league with him.’ Your club cannot be put in jeopardy, so the answer is no. However, I do not believe that it has reached that point yet.
“To replace him, it’s going to cost an awful lot more, you’re not going to pay a transfer fee for him, so I would do whatever it takes to keep him, and I think he wants to stay, but sources tell me that they’re still quite a way apart.”
It has been reported that Trent Alexander-Arnold is still being considered for a transfer to Real Madrid, as was mentioned earlier.
In point of fact, the defender, who is 26 years old, has reportedly agreed to join Los Blancos this summer, as reported by talkSPORT. The publication claims that he has reached an agreement on personal terms for a five-year contract that is worth more than £220,000 per week.
Along with that, Owen shared his thoughts on the current state of Alexander-Arnold’s contract at Anfield.
“Would he be interested in remaining at Liverpool? According to Owen, the England international has “been there, seen it, done it, won everything, and got the t-shirt.” Owen made this statement about the player.
It is possible for him to retire at the club and become an all-time legend; in fact, he will become an all-time legend. He has made such a significant contribution to that club that he has worked his way up through the ranks.
It is impossible for anyone to question his loyalty or anything else of the sort. Even if he were to continue playing, he would still be a part of a team that is doing well. Of course, Liverpool is going to go on to win the league this season as well, and they are still without a doubt one of the best teams in Europe. I mean, it’s not a terrible option at all.
“My choice, when I was in that situation, we weren’t quite as good as the current Liverpool team in terms of being as dominant. We weren’t quite as good as they are.”
“However, there is no doubt that it constitutes a comparable thing. The other possibility is, of course, that he is sitting there thinking, “I’ve accomplished everything I set out to do when I was a young boy. I’ve accomplished everything I could possibly want to accomplish.”
“Who can deny me the opportunity to go and play for one of the biggest teams in the world, a new experience, a new country, a new language, new weather, new food, and new everything?” Owen continued her statement by saying, “Who can deny me this opportunity?” And what a group he is!
