Marcus Rashford named the team he ‘hates’ most out of Liverpool, Man City and Leeds United

When Marcus Rashford was asked to name the one team that he despises more than any other, he did not have any reservations about his answer.

Rashford will have gained a great deal of knowledge regarding Manchester United’s long-standing rivalries with other clubs, such as Liverpool, Leeds United, and Manchester City, due to the fact that he spent his entire childhood playing for the club’s academy.

As a result of the fact that the Englishman has been given the opportunity to play for his boyhood club against all three of their most formidable competitors, it is evident that he has developed a personal investment in the two teams.

When Rashford was asked which of the clubs he detested the most, he had no doubts about which one he disliked the most.

Despite the fact that Rashford is currently on loan with Aston Villa, where he appears to have a disagreement with the current manager of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, Rashford has previously made it abundantly clear that he has a strong aversion to one of the most formidable adversaries of the Red Devils.

During his appearance on the Uninterrupted podcast in July 2022, the England international was asked if there were any teams that he ‘hated,’ and Rashford did not hold back when answering the question.

To be sure, Liverpool. Not a fan of Liverpool at all. “It’s City,” Rashford said, selecting the two that were rather obvious.

The fact that Liverpool has a history makes it a little bit more bitter. That being said, when it comes to City, it’s almost as if you don’t like them, but you don’t have a significant reason to dislike them.

As a result of the fact that Rashford, who is now 27 years old, was born and raised in Manchester, it may come as a surprise that he appears to have such a neutral attitude towards both Manchester City and Manchester United.

On the other hand, the Aston Villa star went on to elaborate on his preference for Pep Guardiola’s team over Liverpool in an interview that took place a year later with the legendary Gary Neville of Manchester United.

Who is it that you dislike the most? “Which team, Liverpool or Manchester City?” Neville enquired to Rashford during their conversation on The Overlap.

“The city of Liverpool. Not a single one of them excites me. The United winger responded, “I dislike Liverpool more than anything else.”

Neville continued by saying, “However, it is intriguing that because I am Liverpool. But if you talk to Scholesy (Paul Scholes) or Butty (Nicky Butt), they will tell you that the word “City” is what they mean.

In a state of surprise, Rashford enquired, “Why is that?”

To which Neville responded, “I’m not sure. I simply believed that it was because they were growing up closer to Manchester. At the same time, you are Manchester.

After that, Rashford continued by saying, “No, it’s Liverpool all day.”

During the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 match against Club Brugge, which will take place on Wednesday night, the English winger will be back in action for Aston Villa. Club Brugge is club from Belgium.
