In the aftermath of his first game for Aston Villa, which took place on Sunday against Spurs, Marcus Rashford has finally spoken out.
As a result of Ruben Amorim’s decision to make Rashford surplus to requirements at Manchester United, interested parties from a wide variety of clubs, such as Barcelona, AC Milan, and Borussia Dortmund, expressed their desire to acquire his services.
The transfer window for the month of January was drawing to a close, and Villa was able to persuade Rashford to join on loan until the end of the season. This would provide Rashford with a new challenge, which he was eager to experience.
When Rashford’s loan agreement comes to an end, Villa will be responsible for covering a significant portion of his salary, and the Midlands club will have the option to make the transfer permanent for a fee of forty million pounds.
Additionally, he made his debut alongside fellow loanee Marco Asensio, who has signed with the club from Paris Saint-Germain. He began the FA Cup match against Spurs at Villa Park on the bench and came on for his debut following the match.
Although Villa had a 2-0 lead thanks to goals scored by Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers, Rashford, who was wearing the No. 9 shirt, had a significant point to prove and appeared to be in excellent form during his cameo appearance of thirty minutes.
The 27-year-old player exerted a great deal of pressure and labour, emerged victorious in duels against defenders, and made wonderful connections with his new teammates.
Villa conceded a late consolation when Spurs forward Mathys Tel scored on his full debut. However, after returning to the pitch for the first time since the middle of December, Rashford posted a message on Instagram expressing his happiness.
A series of pictures were shared by Rashford, in which he was accompanied by fans who were holding signs that were directed at the England international. He wrote, “Thank you for the warm welcome.” Bravo to the team’s performance!”
I am excited about the various options for attacking.
Despite the fact that Villa has lost Jhon Duran to Al Nassr in a transfer worth £64.5 million, they still have a wealth of attacking options available to them as a result of the three forwards that they brought in during the January transfer window.
Due to an injury, Ollie Watkins was unable to participate in Villa’s victory over Spurs; however, the team continued to be as fluid as ever in the final third.
In response to a question about the new players, Emery stated to the BBC, “We have to protect every player and try to adapt them into our structure and use their skills.” In the attacking third, players such as Asensio, Rashford, and Malen are well-rounded and versatile. We are able to have complete faith in having them.
“We are very demanding in our way because we want to be in the top six or top five in the Premier League as well as in the Champions League, where we are in the last 16.”
When Aston Villa plays host to Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday, Rashford will be looking to make his first performance for the club in its entirety.
