Marc Guehi Makes Decision After Liverpool Deal Collapses as New Club Enters Race

On the day of the transfer deadline, Marc Guehi’s move to Liverpool fell through.

After a deadline-day transfer to Liverpool fell through, Marc Guehi is said to have decided on his future at Crystal Palace.

Liverpool, the current Premier League champions, played a significant role in one of the busiest transfer deadline days in recent history on Monday.

The Reds weren’t done yet after smashing the British transfer record by acquiring Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for an estimated £125 million.

Guehi was chosen as the main target for Arne Slot’s goal of adding another defender to this team.

After Liverpool and Palace agreed on a £35 million agreement, the center-back was allowed to have a medical.

However, Palace cancelled the agreement at the last minute because they were unable to find a suitable alternative.

Guehi has reportedly been left “unhappy” by Palace’s decision to halt his transfer to Liverpool.

Guehi has now stated that he would not sign a new contract with Palace, which means that after the 25–26 season ends, he will leave Selhurst Park for nothing, according to talkSPORT.

Liverpool is anticipated to be in the running for the 25-year-old’s services, but they will have fierce competition.

‘Among the clubs interested in signing Marc Guehi at the end of the season’ are reportedly Bayern Munich, the German Bundesliga champions.

TalkSPORT said on social media: “TalkSPORT believes that Bayern Munich is one of the teams interested in signing Marc Guehi at the end of the current campaign.

“The Eagles skipper will be available as a free agent when his Selhurst Park contract expires next summer having made it clear he will not sign a new deal.”

Under Oliver Glasner, Guehi has been a key player thus far this season. He scored a spectacular goal in Palace’s 3-0 Premier League victory over Aston Villa.

What was said about Marc Guehi by Oliver Glasner?
Glasner stated after the game that Palace needed to hold onto their captain.

“I told the chairman that if we want to play a successful season, we have to keep Marc,” the Austrian stated. Finding the ideal replacement in a single day is not an option. We all decided that if the building has the right replacement, we should just sell Marc.

By July 1st, we wanted a successor. As of August 31, we don’t have a substitute. I think it’s apparent because we have this agreement. He is a really important player. He is our captain and one of our most important players.

Guehi is presently playing for England on international duty. Over the next seven days, Thomas Tuchel’s team will play Serbia and Andorra.
