Tosin Adarabioyo is set to join Chelsea

According to reports, Chelsea is getting closer to signing Tosin Adarabioyo, who has connections to Manchester United.

Under new manager Enzo Maresca, the 26-year-old is expected to be the Blues’ first summer acquisition. After choosing not to have his contract extended, Adarabioyo, who played for Fulham for four seasons, will depart Craven Cottage at the end of this month.

After it was confirmed that Raphael Varane was leaving, United was said to have shown interest in the defender. Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United were also rumored to be interested in a deal.

It looks like he’s heading to Stamford Bridge instead. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea has emerged as the front-runner to sign him, and contract talks are reportedly nearing completion.

This occurs subsequent to Thiago Silva’s departure due to contract expiration. On the final day of the season, the Brazilian, who had spent four years at Stamford Bridge, made his Chelsea debut against Bournemouth.

The task of finding a new player to take Varane’s place now falls to United. Erik ten Hag, the manager, emphasized the significance of adding a striker, midfielder, and defender this summer.

He stated, “We need to sign an extra striker in the summer,” in an interview with VI. And everything will look good again if we can sign a replacement for Varane as well as another central midfield player.

“If the team remains fit we can try and aim for top four again.”
