Man Utd suffer triple injury blow as Ruben Amorim facing selection nightmare for Spurs clash

In preparation for their Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, Manchester United is “set to be without” three players. The match will take place away from home.

United is currently in 13th place heading into game week 25, and they will be hoping for a positive performance that will take place in north London.

There is a significant selection conundrum that Amorim, who is forty years old, is currently facing. He may even choose to include a 19-year-old academy graduate in the twenty-man matchday squad.

It is possible that this is a change that has been imposed on the United squad as a result of the string of injuries that they have sustained during training this week.

A number of players, including Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, and Jonny Evans, are currently making their way back to full fitness after having been sidelined for extended periods of time.

After suffering an injury to his cruciate ligament during the 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace on February 2, it is anticipated that Lisandro Martinez will be unable to participate in the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

Since Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, and Toby Collyer all sustained injuries during training this week, it is highly likely that they will not be able to participate in the match on Sunday.

Because Mainoo is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks due to his injury, it is possible that he will not be able to participate in the match against Everton that will take place at Goodison Park the following week.

Who has the potential to play in the middle of Manchester United’s field?
Christian Eriksen and Casemiro are the most senior players that are available, but it could be argued that they do not possess the necessary pace for what is expected to be a high-pressure away game in which both teams are eager to earn three points.

At a press conference that took place on Friday, Amorim took the opportunity to share his thoughts with the media regarding the injury crisis.

In response, Amorim stated, “No, it was a good week up until two days ago.” Even we had some issues to deal with. As a result, we do not have any players returning; it is possible that we have one or two problems, but we are waiting.

Additionally, we have one player who is ill, so we will evaluate the team over the course of the weekend. However, it was beneficial to the team to work together, to get a sense of the players, and to make an effort to improve our performance.

The question of whether or not Amorim will bring in young players, such as Chido Obi-Martin, who is a highly regarded prospect, was also posed to him.

“I don’t want to say names because we have to be careful with that,” he explained further. “Yes, they are cooperating with us. This week, we encountered a few issues, and as a result, we decided to invite a few younger players to participate in our training as a means of gathering data and evaluating them. He is one of those players.
