Manchester United has verified that Ruud van Nistelrooy has departed the Premier League club in response to the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the new head coach.
Van Nistelrooy, a former United striker, returned to Old Trafford over the summer to serve as Erik ten Hag’s assistant manager.
However, subsequent to the Dutchman’s dismissal last month, he assumed responsibility for the team as interim manager, with the expectation of securing the position on a permanent basis.
