Man Utd Insider Explains Why Mason Mount Could Miss Six Months

Mason Mount may miss up to six months of action, according to a Manchester United insider. The alarming information was released a few days after the English midfielder, who came off the bench in United’s 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, had his first club appearance since December 2024.

Fans had hoped that Mount would eventually play more frequently under Ruben Amorim after his brief return to Premier League action. But since leaving Chelsea in 2023 for ยฃ55 million, the 26-year-old’s fortunes has kept slipping.

The club reportedly sees the scenario as an essential measure to ensure Mount returns completely healthy, even though it could result in another lengthy stint out. After he recovers, the United management is now concentrating on figuring out how to get the most out of the 36-cap England international.

Why Mason Mount Will Be Sidelined for Another Six Months
He is being sent to a Swiss private clinic.

The club wants to send Mount to a private clinic in Switzerland to try to stop his reoccurring ailment from happening again, according to X account @Unitedscout. According to the account (read the entire post below):

In light of Mason Mount’s repeated injuries, there have been talks in recent months about sending him to a private clinic in Switzerland. Since it would theoretically avoid or reduce the number of injuries, MUFC believes this is a viable solution. He would be out for around six months if this option was selected. They would anticipate that he would be far less prone to injuries if this were the case. Watch this closely to see whether his injuries worsen.”

Mount established himself as a major creative force throughout his six-year tenure at Chelsea, scoring 33 goals and dishing out 35 assists in 195 matches. However, the midfielder has found it difficult to duplicate that performance since joining Manchester United, making 33 appearances over two seasons with just one goal and one assist. It’s hardly a satisfactory return for a player who costs the team ยฃ250,000 a week.

It is hoped that Mount, who supporters have yet to see in person at Old Trafford, will return if United decides to send him to Switzerland for rehabilitation. Naturally, there is a chance that he is slipping into a well-known pattern, in which bright young players lose their spark as a result of the team’s continuous problems, independent of their own personal problems.
