Manchester United has gotten in touch with a possible Carlos Baleba move, and they might have a big edge.
It has been revealed that Manchester United may have a secret weapon in their hunt for Carlos Baleba, a midfielder for Brighton.
After finishing in 15th place and losing to Spurs in the Europa League final, United has already made three big acquisitions this summer: Diego Leon, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo.
However, they aren’t sitting back and are currently negotiating a £74 million deal with RB Leipzig for striker Benjamin Sesko, who has apparently already agreed to personal terms and wants the transfer.
However, that’s not all. According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, United contacted Brighton via middlemen regarding Baleba.
The 21-year-old is not wanted by the Seagulls, and Fabrizio Romano claims that a transfer would be “difficult” and expensive.

Baleba, who moved from Lille to Brighton for £26 million in 2023, is the target of United, who are looking for a new midfield player.
Baleba’s’secret’ weapon from Man United
Baleba played with current United defender Leny Yoro during his 23 appearances for Lille.
United supporters hope Yoro may persuade Baleba to join him at Old Trafford for a reunion after the two became friends while playing together and are of similar ages.

Alongside Mbeumo and Andre Onana, Baleba plays for Cameroon.
One fan responded to the news on X by writing: “@leny_yoro, call Baleba. “Get him to make the move!”
Another said: “It’s obvious that we believe we have a chance. The player is reportedly eager, which makes sense given that around half of his former colleagues are now with us.
“We have agent Yoro, Mbeumo, and Onana to pull Baleba,” jokingly said a third.
Baleba has also been strongly linked to Liverpool and Arsenal, and Manchester City expressed interest during the January transfer window.
But according to L’Equipe, the £104 million price tag deterred City a little.
In addition to making a significant profit on players like Joao Pedro and Marc Cucurella, Brighton’s record sale was the £115 million they got from Chelsea for Moises Caicedo.
Despite not having a strong financial position, United is thought to be able to afford more signings because of the way their fees for Cunha and Mbeumo were structured, the £5 million penalty fee Chelsea paid for not signing Jadon Sancho, the sell-on clauses from moves involving Anthony Elanga, Alvaro Carreras, and Maxi Oyedele, and the fact that Barcelona is paying Marcus Rashford £325,000 per week while he is on loan.
