According to reports, Manchester United has established a figure for the striker Rasmus Hojlund’s asking price.
Hojlund, a Danish international player, moved from Atalanta, a team playing in Serie A, to Manchester United in the summer of 2023. The transfer was reportedly worth a total of £64 million, with an additional deal worth £8 million in add-ons.
In spite of the fact that Hojlund, who is 22 years old, has not yet been able to produce his best football for the Red Devils, a lot of people had high expectations for him after his impressive performances for Atalanta.
Over the course of his time with the Old Trafford club, Hojlund has only managed to score 24 goals in 82 appearances across all competitions.
As a consequence of this, the Dane is facing an uncertain future prior to the transfer window that will open this summer.
In recent days, there have been rumours that United have finally established a price that they are willing to pay for the striker.
It has been reported by the Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport that the Serie A club Napoli is considering making a deal with Manchester United in order to acquire Hojlund when the summer arrives.
At the beginning of the summer transfer window, Manchester United has’set the asking price’ for Rasmus Hojlund.
However, it has been suggested that Napoli does not have the financial resources necessary to meet the asking price of fifty million pounds that the Old Trafford club has set.
In recent remarks, Jaap Stam, a legend for United, has accused Ruben Amorim, the head coach, of preventing Hojlund from reaching his full potential.
“I believe that it is Rasmus Holjund’s style of play that is holding him back,” he said in an interview with Makthavarse.se, which was reported by The Express.
“We don’t know how the manager is trying to use him in matches and I think he doesn’t get a lot of chances to touch the ball and get into games.”
“It becomes a very difficult situation for a striker because you don’t see crosses coming into the box, and the emphasis should be on creating chances for him,” Stam continued. “I do not see any crosses coming into the box.” You won’t be able to demonstrate how good of a striker you are if you don’t get any opportunities.
On the first of April, Manchester United will return to action in the Premier League when they host Nottingham Forest, who are vying for a spot in the Champions League, at the City Ground.
