After observing what manager Ruben Amorim was doing on the touchline during his team’s FA Cup fifth round loss to Fulham, fans of Manchester United have voiced their concern about the situation.
After Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno saved penalty kicks from Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee, United was eliminated from the FA Cup. As a result, United was eliminated from the competition.
The match, which ended 1-1 after extra time, was largely devoid of any real quality throughout the 120 minutes, and neither team was able to avoid a shootout. The decision was ultimately decided by a shootout.
This was yet another disappointing day for Amorim and his team at Old Trafford, despite the fact that Bruno Fernandes produced one of the game’s brightest moments with a well-taken left-footed finish from 15 yards to tie the score.
One of the spectators observed Amorim appearing animated on the touchline throughout the entire match, and they asserted that he was ‘guiding’ Rasmus Hojlund through the game.
Due to the fact that he was taken out of the game at the 68-minute mark on Sunday, the Danish striker has not scored for United in any of his last 18 appearances.
Fans are concerned about the 22-year-old striker’s recent performances, and Amorim’s coaching of the striker during the match certainly divided opinion. Many fans questioned why the striker would require such a high level of guidance as they were concerned about the striker’s performance.
United supporters, on the other hand, were blown away by the performance of Chido Obi, who was only 17 years old at the time. He came on as a substitute for Hojlund and made his third senior appearance. Obi appeared animated in the final stages of the game as his team looked for a winner.
In response to a question posed to him by reporters after the match regarding the possibility of Obi taking over for Hojlund in the starting lineup going forward, Amorim stated, “Anything can happen in the next games.”
“During training, we don’t have a lot of time to train, but we need to see the opposition and feel the moment of the player physically, in this moment, with a lot of games,” the coach said.
Thursday and Sunday are the days that we are going to begin playing, but anything could happen. On the other hand, I will concentrate solely on the upcoming match, and I will look at it as if I were going to switch up the striker. In contrast, I will select the most talented players in order to win the next match.
