Man Utd fans spot what Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood did after Andre Onana’s row with Nemanja Matic

Following the violent altercation that occurred between Andre Onana and Nemanja Matic, Manchester United took note of the actions taken by Marcus Rashford and other previous and present stars.

Matic, a former midfielder for Manchester United who is currently playing for Lyon, gave the pre-match news conference before United’s match against Lyon in the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinal and the match itself took place on Thursday.

However, the Serbian made headlines in the lead-up to the match when he replied to a comment made by Onana regarding his belief that United are the superior team by referring to him as “one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United’s history.”

Matic’s lack of titles with United was brought up by Onana in a remark that was published on X. Onana responded by saying, “At least I’ve lifted trophies with the greatest club in the world that there is.” Some people are unable to say the same thing.

However, the words made by the former Inter Milan player came back to haunt him as he made two costly blunders during the 2-2 draw that took place at the Groupama Stadium. One of these mistakes was the spilling of a late shot, which allowed Rayan Cherki to score a goal in the 95th minute to tie the game.

The substitution that Matic was supposed to make for Lyon was not used, and it did not appear that he had any contact with Onana.

When he returned to Old Trafford, however, he found himself in the locker room alongside members of United’s coaching staff with whom he had collaborated throughout his time there.

A statement that said “Nice to see my brothers again” was included on the photo that Matic posted on Instagram.

In addition, the current captain, Bruno Fernandes, and Rashford, who is presently on loan at Aston Villa after being locked out by Ruben Amorim, both expressed their approval of the move.

A number of former stars, including Alvaro Fernandez, Brandon Williams, Mason Greenwood, and David De Gea, have publicly recognised the post.

The second post was Matic’s attempt to make a sly joke at Onana.

On his Instagram story, Matic also prepared a second post, in which he showed a picture of his kid Filip wearing a variety of jerseys that belonged to his father’s previous colleagues. These shirts included shirts from Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Amad, among others.

However, particularly revealing was the fact that his kid was posing with the shirt of Tom Heaton, United’s third-choice custodian.

Due to the fact that Onana made two errors, which raises his total number of errors that resulted in goals surrendered this season to nine, he received a great deal of criticism.

Amorim, on the other hand, refrained from hammering on the Cameroonian player, saying instead, “When one game has a mistake, the whole team has a mistake.”

Amorim responded, “No, we’ll continue to do the same thing in training, seeing the game and trying to choose the best eleven to win every match.” This reaction came in response to the question of whether or not he would contemplate removing his custodian.
