Man Utd fans say one player’s career ‘is done’ after dismal first half against Grimsby

Manchester United is in Carabao Cup action against Grimsby Town.

Manchester United fans have reacted on social media after seeing the Red Devils play Grimsby Town.

On Wednesday night, Ruben Amorim’s side traveled to Blundell Park to face Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup second round.

The Red Devils enter the competition at this stage for the first time in more than a decade, following their disastrous 24/25 season.

Despite losing their first two Premier League games, United were supposed to be huge favourites in the tie.

Grimsby, on the other hand, took an unexpected lead in the 22nd minute thanks to Charles Vernam, who managed to push a shot past Andre Onana’s near post.

With 30 minutes remaining, Onana was in trouble again when he flapped at a corner and the ball fell into the path of Tyrell Warren, who tapped into an open goal.

On social media, one fan commented, “Onana is comfortably the worst United goalkeeper I’ve ever seen.”

Another tweet read: “Look at Onana, man. If we don’t sell this guy after this game, we aren’t a real organization.”

A different fan stated: “Onana is crap and will never make it at this club, but we’re crap for even finding out Onana is crap.”

Someone else wrote, “Onana is done at United; sell him now. He is completely finished.”

A fifth commented, “Onana needs to be sold before the window closes.”

Another fan suggested: “Fire Amorim and send Onana home at halftime.”

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, former England striker Chris Sutton commented, “Incredible.” Absolutely fantastic. The ball is whipped in from the left side, and Onana is flapping and utterly misses it. He needs to get it, but he doesn’t.

“Warren mishandled the ball across the line, making it the simplest finish. “Where does United go from here?”
