Man Utd ‘draw up three-man list to replace Ruben Amorim’ including manager who hasn’t had role since 2021

According to a report from Spain, Manchester United is apparently “beginning to consider a possible change in their management” as a result of a string of unsatisfactory results. Additionally, a shortlist consisting of three individuals has been established.

In light of the fact that his team is continuing to struggle in every competition, Ruben Amorim recently admitted that he is “fighting for his job” in the second half of the season he is currently playing in.

In addition to being eliminated from both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup this season, United is currently ranked fourteenth in the Premier League table. They have only managed to win nine of the possible twenty-seven matches they have played in.

Amorim himself has lost eight of his sixteen league games since taking over in November, but their decent form in the Europa League continues to offer glimmers of hope in an otherwise turgid spell. Amorim’s takeover came in November.

There has been no indication that Amorim’s position as head coach has been put under any kind of pressure as a result of United’s performance up to this point in time.

However, in the midst of their difficulties, a report from the Spanish publication Fichajes suggests that those working behind the scenes at Old Trafford are already “analysing possible replacements” in the event that the situation does not improve in the coming months.

In the report, there are three names mentioned, the first of which is Joachim Low, who was formerly the manager of Germany.

It is said that the 65-year-old individual, who has been unemployed ever since he resigned from his position as Germany’s head coach in 2021, is “an attractive option due to his ability to manage dressing rooms with great figures.”

Julen Lopetegui is yet another candidate who could be considered. According to the report, the profile of the former manager of Real Madrid, Sevilla, and West Ham is one that is “liked.” The report mentions that the manager is able to rebuild projects and make teams that are competitive.

The third name that has been mentioned is that of Massimiliano Allegri, the manager of Juventus, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a very long time. As a result of his previous experience in the elite leagues and his achievements in Serie A, he is considered to be a “solid alternative.”

There is no doubt that the possibility of Amorim being fired so early in his tenure at Old Trafford is extremely remote, especially when considering the expenses that would be incurred.

In the event that United decided to terminate the employment of Amorim and his backroom staff, the club would be required to pay a total of twenty million pounds to them, as reported by the Mirror. This comes after United paid out fourteen and a half million pounds to terminate Erik ten Hag and his coaching employees.

The club also confirmed in their quarterly accounts that the total cost of hiring sporting director Dan Ashworth and parting ways with him was £4.1 million. This figure takes into account the compensation that was paid to Newcastle as well as the amount that he received upon his departure.
