Man Utd Aim Final Dig at Jadon Sancho as He Completes Aston Villa Transfer

Jadon Sancho has joined Aston Villa on loan.

Manchester United looked to take a parting shot at Jadon Sancho following his transfer to Aston Villa.

On transfer deadline day, United were busy offloading players and bringing in goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Belgian club Royal Antwerp.

While Sancho was on loan at Villa, striker Rasmus Hojlund joined Serie A champions Napoli, while Brazilian winger Antony was sold to Spanish La Liga club Real Betis.

United announced the transfer on their official website, writing: “Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has signed for Aston Villa on a season-long loan, subject to registration.” Sancho joined the club in July 2021, coming from Borussia Dortmund.

“He had a loan spell back at the Bundesliga side in the second part of the 2023/24 season, appearing in the UEFA Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid at Wembley.”

United then looked to take a thinly veiled dig at Sancho, stating that this will be his third loan out since joining Old Trafford.

The statement added, “The winger spent the next season at Chelsea. Hence, this move is the third loan of his career.

Villa’s next Premier League game is away to Everton on Saturday, September 13. We wish Jadon the best of luck throughout his stay with the Midlanders.

Sancho appeared 41 times for Chelsea in all competitions during his previous loan stay, scoring five goals.

Aside from Sancho, Villa was able to sign former Manchester United player Victor Lindelof, who departed the club this summer when his contract expired.

In addition, Liverpool player Harvey Elliott has relocated to Villa Park. The 22-year-old will sign on an initial loan with the option to buy next summer, subject to appearance-related stipulations.

Villa will return to Premier League action on September 13 when they face David Moyes’ Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
