Man United are interested in signing £80m Everton star and £40M Nice defender to bolster defense this summer

To strengthen their defense this summer, Man United is interested in acquiring an £80 million Everton star and a £40 million Nice defender. Lisandro Martinez’s long-term defensive partner is what the Red Devils are looking for.

Both Jarrad Branthwaite and Jean-Clair Todibo are available for signing by Manchester United; Everton has not yet set a price for the former.

Given the links to multiple central defenders that have already surfaced, it is obvious that the Red Devils are searching for at least one this summer.

After having a strong Premier League debut for the Toffees, Branthwaite has been the focus of a lot of conjecture.

As for Jean-Clair Todibo, who has been playing well for Nice in Ligue 1 lately, he has been on United’s radar for a while.

Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham was previously linked to United; however, it now seems that he is going to Chelsea, so the Red Devils’ interest in Branthwaite and Todibo could pick up speed.

Jacobs has made it clear that the club’s hierarchy is waiting to hear from Everton regarding a price for Branthwaite and that the interest in the two “has substance.”

Everton Branthwaite
Branthwaite, who spent a season on loan at PSV, made his Everton debut last season and thrived under Sean Dyche’s direction.

The 21-year-old is one of Europe’s most exciting young defensive prospects with a dominant ability in the air and crisp passing abilities. This summer, he was called up to England’s Euro squad.

Todibo, a former Barcelona player who is technical but athletic, has grown into one of France’s most accomplished center backs. He’s been thinking about moving to Old Trafford for a while.

Jacobs gave more information about United’s pursuit of both players in an interview with GIVEMESPORT:

Manchester United has looked at a number of defenders, but they know that potential suitors for Jarad Brathwaite will primarily be interested in knowing his price.

There are two viable options: Jarrad Branthwaite and Jean-Clair Todibo. However, with Branthwaite, all interested parties—including Manchester United—have been waiting for Everton to provide a price indication.

And we’re waiting patiently and opportunistically, so there was a chance that the price might have been a little more affordable when Everton received the points deduction and it became obvious that the team was in danger of losing. That was sometime in the middle of the season or early in the following year.

“However, Everton is safe now, and even though their financial situation is a little precarious, this may drag on for a while.”

Given that Jacobs implied that Branthwaite would fetch a high price, United might focus on Todibo.

It’s obvious that INEOS wants to find Lisandro Martinez a long-term partner, regardless of who they sign in the end, given that Harry Maguire is still inconsistent and Raphael Varane is expected to depart.
