The England international may leave Manchester City during the summer transfer window.
Jack Grealish, a winger for Manchester City who is now out of favor, has reportedly revealed a new asking price, making two teams the front-runners to recruit him.
After a disastrous Premier League season in which they lost the league crown to current winners Liverpool, Man City is looking to recover.
In addition to losing 1-0 to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley in May, Pep Guardiola’s team was unable to win the UEFA Champions League.
United, their fiercest rivals, went one step further and endured one of their worst seasons ever.
In addition to finishing 15th in the Premier League standings, they were humiliated by Tottenham 1-0 in the UEFA Europa League final.
They were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League for the next season as a result of that loss.
This summer, both teams hope to rebuild their teams, but they will need to raise money to do so.
Luckily, both teams have a lot of well-known players they could sell to generate money for this summer’s additions.
Marcus Rashford of the Red Devils has been connected to leaving the organization, and Grealish, his former England teammate, is also rumored to be looking for other opportunities.
The Manchester Evening News claims that both players might still fetch exorbitant prices.
According to the magazine, the two players are valued at £40 million by City and United.
Given that both players had challenging 2024–2025 seasons, they might find it tough to sell at such a high price.
Last season, Grealish played in just 20 Premier League games, recording one goal and one assist.
Oddschecker claims that the two top teams vying for the winger’s services this summer are Napoli and Spurs.
Guardiola maintained that the 29-year-old’s behavior was not the reason he was left out of City’s team for the Club World Cup.
“The only reason he [Grealish] didn’t play minutes was me, not because he was incorrect or whatever,” Guardiola stated in June.
“I wish Jack, his partner, his children, and his family the very best.
“At this moment, I have no idea what will happen. have any reservations regarding Jack’s character. The year of the triple would not have been conceivable since the talent has always been there.
Rashford, meanwhile, was loaned to Aston Villa, a Premier League rival of United.
That followed his contentious admission that he was up for a fresh challenge in an interview with sports journalist Henry Winter.
