Man City and Chelsea fans banned from attending Club World Cup this summer

According to the information that has been disclosed, supporters of Manchester City and Chelsea have been prohibited from attending the FIFA Club World Cup tournament that will take place in the United States this summer.

A total of 32 teams representing six different confederations will compete in the redesigned competition, which will take place in the United States of America between June 14 and July 13. The competition will take place across the pond during this time period.

Chelsea and City, both of whom have previously triumphed in the competition after achieving victory in the Champions League, are the two teams that have been selected to represent the Premier League. They have been assigned to Group D and Group G respectively.

On the other hand, it has come to light that one hundred fifty supporters of both City and Chelsea have been denied permission to travel to the showpiece.

There is a possibility that fans who have been issued Football Banning Orders by the courts will have their plans thrown into disarray because they are on the verge of receiving a letter demanding that they hand over their passports, as reported by The Sun.

According to the new legislation, individuals who have been disciplined for inappropriate behaviour are required to hand over the document to the police for a period of five weeks during the time that the Club World Cup is being held.

This follows on from a similar strategy that was implemented for the Euro 2024 tournament in an effort to reduce the amount of trouble that fans caused.

according to that.

A number of the most powerful teams in the world, including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid, Inter Miami, Fluminense, and River Plate, are taking part in the competition with the objective of winning prize money that is close to one hundred million pounds.

Dame Diane Johnson, the Minister of Policing, made the following statement in response to the crackdown: “Many fans of Manchester City and Chelsea will want to travel to support their teams in this summer’s tournament, and we want them all to do so in a safe and enjoyable manner.”

We will, however, implement the same tried-and-true preventative measures that we have successfully implemented for other international competitions in order to deal with the extremely small number of individuals who engage in criminal activity on the basis of their participation in football.

Ineligible club to compete in the World Cup
There are other individuals who are prohibited from attending the tournament in addition to the supporters. As a result of “failing to meet the criteria on multi-club ownership,” the Mexican club Club Leon has been expelled from the competition.

Leon, who FIFA determined were linked to fellow Mexico side CF Pachuca, were previously scheduled to be in the same group as Chelsea; however, a replacement will be confirmed in due course prior to the tournament getting underway. Chelsea will be in the same group as Chelsea.

According to recent reports, FIFA is mulling over the possibility of holding a play-off championship match to determine who will earn the final spot.

Group A of the FIFA Club World Cup consists of the following teams: Palmeiras, FC Porto, Al Ahly, and Inter Miami

Participants in Group B include Botafogo, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Seattle Sounders.

Benfica, Bayern Munich, Auckland City, and Boca Juniors are the contenders in Group C.

Group D consists of Chelsea, Flamengo, Esperance Sportive de Tunisie, and Chelsea.

River Plate, Urawa Red Diamonds, Monterrey, and Inter Milan are the teams making up Group E.

Fluminense, Borussia Dortmund, Ulsan, and Mamelodi Sundowns are their opponents in Group F.

Champions Manchester City, Wydad, Al Ain, and Juventus make up Group G.

Pachuca, Salzburg, Real Madrid, and Al Hilal are the teams in Group H.
