Man City 3-0 Man Utd: Fans Drop Clear Verdict On Gianluigi Donnarumma’s Debut

Gianluigi Donnarumma made his Manchester City debut against rivals Manchester United after joining the club from Paris Saint-Germain for £26 million in the summer. All eyes were on the Italian goalie as he made his Premier League debut.

He had a few early involvements without doing anything particularly noteworthy, including a routine stop from Benjamin Sesko, and was able to watch from a distance as Jeremy Doku set up Phil Foden for the opening goal in the 18th minute. In truth, the 26-year-old was just a spectator in the first half, but he earned a round of applause after hitting well from a corner.

After the halftime, Erling Haaland put Manchester City ahead 2-0, scoring sharply after being set up by Doku. Fans received their first view of Donnarumma’s best quality in the 62nd minute, when he did an excellent job to trip Bryan Mbeumo’s shot just around the post at full stretch.

Haaland would subsequently score a third, his second of the day, as he finished calmly when placed through on goal. Fans praised Donnarumma’s debut when he scored three points.

Fans react as Donnarumma makes his Man City debut.

The Italian received a lot of appreciation, with one fan noting, “Donnarumma makes me feel so safe.” Another added, “Donnarumma has been lowkey authoritative.”

A third person posted: “Oh and early to say but Donnarumma dealing with set pieces well so far.” Someone other stated: “Donnarumma has changed City’s life.”

His save against Mbuemo, however, received the most plaudits, with one supporter stating:

“DONNARUMMA, I CAN’T BELIEVE MY EYES.”

Another said, “I have officially joined the Donnarumma fan club.” “He’s a monster.” Someone else insisted, “Ederson would never have saved this.” Donnarumma, the Saviour.”

To put it simply, people were amazed by his large bulk in goal, despite the fact that he is shorter than James Trafford.

One fan stated, “Donnarumma is really huge.” A different worry: “Donnarumma is huge, Manchester United might not score through him.”

Overall, the goalie delivered an excellent debut performance, impressing his new fans. It will be intriguing to see how he does, as City’s next Premier League game is away from home against Arsenal. Having earned a 7.5/10 in the GIVEMESPORT player ratings, the Italian will be expected to deliver once more.
