In the Premier League Darts in Newcastle last night, Luke Littler maintained his winning ways and made a substantial sum of money for very little effort. On his way to his fourth nightly victory of the season, the defending champion actually only spent a total of 36 minutes on stage across his three bouts.
“The Nuke” won his fourth tournament this year, defeating Rob Cross (6-3), Luke Humphries (6-1), and Stephen Bunting (6-0) to solidify his position atop the eight-player league rankings. So far this season, the only people to win evenings outside of Littler are Humphries and Gerwyn Price.

Littler’s overall playing time for the three games was only 36 minutes, when broken down by duration. The 36 minutes of playing time divided by the £10,000 prize money up for grabs last night comes to about £277.78 per minute. The total amount he pocketed for each game yesterday night is broken down here:
The Bunting match (10 minutes) costs £2,777.78.
The Cross match costs £4,166.67 (15 minutes).
£3,055.56 for the 11-minute Humphries game
🎯Luke Littler's earnings per minute in this event were staggering. Let's analyze the numbers from his three quick victories that earned him £10,000.
He spent:
– 10 minutes beating Bunting 6-0
– 15 minutes defeating Cross 6-3
– 11 minutes overcoming Humphries 6-1

This amounts to around £16,666.67 per hour. In contrast, a football player in the Premier League who earns £300,000 a week earns around £214 per minute. This indicates that Littler’s pay rate in Newcastle exceeded the average salary of a professional football player.
Luke Littler’s Newcastle Night
On the eighth night of Premier League action, Littler had no intention of playing about.
Despite not being in peak form, Littler’s current performance is evident as he averaged 109.98 against Bunting and 102.15 versus ‘The Bullet’.
His three-dart average was considerably lower versus Humphries in the final, averaging only 93.62, but he still won that handily. He found it harder against Cross, though, with ‘Voltage’ coming in very close.
Littler’s record of winning four Premier League nightly rounds has only been surpassed by Welshman Jonny Clayton in 2022. Littler has now accomplished this feat twice. “The Nuke” warns his rivals that his significant lead in this year’s competition means he can enter upcoming weeks with greater ease.
World No. 1 Humphries paid a heavy price for missing doubles during the final, as Littler cruised to victory and later acknowledged that he had overcome some fatigue during Thursday’s highlight event. “I’m really pleased with my performances tonight,” he remarked, adding that it was clear that he was a little worn out at the end. In the final, I’m just ready to cross the winning line.
“I just felt exhausted, so I switched things up a little from my usual throw, or what I was throwing tonight. Luke claimed to be exhausted after the game, but I had to persevere. I feel good. In contrast to last week’s final, I felt exhausted tonight. It all comes down to ensuring that you are correct and capable of playing these games on stage.

With 16 victories overall, Littler leads the leaderboard by eight points after another outstanding performance. “That goes to show that everyone says I am the best in the world right now,” he continued. But as you know, I’ll never truly claim to be the best in the world, but since I’m outperforming these folks, perhaps I ought to claim that title. We’ll see how it plays out.
Next Thursday, the Premier League roadshow will travel to Berlin, where Littler hopes to increase his already remarkable revenues.
