Luka Modric set to become co-owner of shock former Premier League club as Fabrizio Romano drops bombshell

It has been disclosed by Fabrizio Romano that Luka Modric is planning to make his first move into ownership of a football club, despite the fact that he is still playing for Real Madrid.

Even though he is already 38 years old, the player who won the Ballon d’Or in 2018 is still under contract with Real until the end of the current season.

According to a report by Marca, Modric has communicated his wish to prolong his playing career and remain at the Bernabeu for an additional season.

In spite of this, he has already begun to formulate strategies for his life beyond football, and these ideas have completely taken everyone by surprise.

Romano has disclosed that Modric has disclosed his intention to become a co-owner of Swansea City, a team that competes in the Championship.

On his Twitter account, Romano said that Luka Modric will soon become a minority owner at Swansea, and that a deal had been reached.

“This does not affect his pro career, as he wants to continue playing for Real Madrid again.”

Andy Coleman, the chairman of the club, along with investors Nigel Morris, Brett Cravatt, and Jason Cohen, purchased a majority ownership in the team that won the Carabao Cup in 2013 and was demoted from the top flight in 2018. The investment was worth 77.41 percent.

There is a lack of clarity regarding the link between Modric and the present ownership group at this point in time.

During the 2011–12 season, the Croatian player was a member of Tottenham Hotspur and did face Swansea on two separate occasions.

There are now four Welsh clubs competing in the English Football League (EFL), with Cardiff also competing in the Championship with Swansea.

Wrexham, which is co-owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is now competing in League One and is attempting to advance to the next level of competition. Newport County, on the other hand, is currently competing in League Two.

At the beginning of this season, Swansea were in danger of being relegated to the Championship. However, thanks to a strong run of play under interim manager Alan Sheehan, the club has been able to draw away from the drop zone.

Following a victory over Sunderland by a score of 1-0 on Saturday, they are now in the 12th position with 54 points.
