Liverpool’s dream starting XI next season looks unbeatable if two more signings take summer spending to £500m

Liverpool may put together a pretty formidable lineup if they sign just two more dream players this summer.

On May 30, Liverpool made their first signing of what is likely to be a busy summer, revealing Jeremie Frimpong as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s successor.

The move comes amid suggestions that the Reds are pursuing a club-record deal for Frimpong’s former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz, as well as Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.

Even when the anticipated signings for Wirtz and Kerkez are completed, it is widely assumed that Liverpool will remain active in the transfer market as Arne Slot seeks to add to his Premier League-winning side.

And if they can pull off two more dream signings, they may be called the world’s best team.

Along with the Wirtz and Kerkez transactions, it has been rumored that Liverpool hopes to sign a new striker this summer, with Hugo Ekitike and Julian Alvarez being mentioned.

However, it has long been known that Newcastle United player Alexander Isak would be the club’s preferred signing if a deal could be reached.

Earlier this season, reports suggested that the Magpies would seek a hefty sum of more than £150 million to enable the move of the Swedish international, who has 23 Premier League goals in 34 games this season.

However, with speculations indicating that Liverpool might sell one or both of Darwin Nunez or Luis Diaz for up to £80 million, such a big price tag may not be out of reach for the Reds.

If Diaz leaves the club, Liverpool would undoubtedly look for a new winger to start on the left side of their attack, with speculations suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola is at the top of their list.

The 22-year-old has become as one of the most intriguing young wingers in the world this season after impressing for the Champions League winners, appearing in 58 games across all competitions despite not being a regular starter.

The Guardian said that Liverpool would be willing to invest £100 million on the Frenchman if they were willing to let him go when the summer transfer window reopened next week.

If Liverpool were able to make fantastic moves, their total spend for the summer would likely be close to £500 million, however most of this would be offset by the predicted sales of numerous players.

And in doing so, they would definitely create what could be the best starting XI in all of football, as well as one of the most spectacular Premier League teams in history.
