There has been a massive bombshell.
Given Liverpool’s unexpected decision to abandon their pursuit of the striker, Alexander Isak may be staying at Newcastle United this transfer window.
After requesting to be left off of Newcastle’s preseason tour to Asia, Isak has pushed for a move away from the team this summer.
David Ornstein of The Athletic reports that Liverpool’s first attempt to sign the 25-year-old, who has been training alone at his previous club Real Sociedad, was rejected on Friday.
Isak may now have to remain at St. James’ Park if fresh rumours are to be believed. Liverpool’s offer is reportedly £110 million, which is much less than Newcastle’s valuation.
Ben Jacobs claims that because the Magpies are reluctant to part with the Swede, Liverpool’s initial offer may be their final one.
“As of right now, Liverpool has no plans to bid again for Alexander Isak this window,” he stated on X.
“Due to the nature of NUFC’s reply, Liverpool will not make another offer. deemed pointless unless Newcastle modifies their position and gets in touch with Liverpool.
The rejected offer was £110 million. “There is no issue with terms with Isak,” he continued.
In a recent interview from Seoul, winger Anthony Gordon addressed the striker, who has been the subject of all the buzz throughout Newcastle’s preseason trip despite being thousands of miles away.
He told The Mail, “I know what Alex is going through.”
“All I can say is that, personally, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed spending the summer away from transfer rumours! In around three years, this is the first time! It’s been incredibly simple and mentally rejuvenating.
“I can therefore relate to Alex’s situation. I feel sorry for him. He’s going to experience a lot. A lot is happening at the club. In the end, I hope everyone gets what they want,” he continued.
