Liverpool player ‘set’ to leave immediately after Alexander Isak arrival

Liverpool are likely to ratify the sale of a player after agreeing on a deal with Newcastle United for Alexander Isak.

A Liverpool player is expected to leave the club ahead of the arrival of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

Liverpool has spent heavily this summer, signing players such as Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz for £116 million.

However, the Reds have also approved the sales of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, not to mention the death of Diogo Jota.

Arne Slot is determined to strengthen his offensive options, with his sights set on Isak, who has been the subject of a summer transfer saga.

However, the Isak issue has finally come to an end, with Liverpool and Newcastle agreeing on a British record sum.

Liverpool are also negotiating a deal to capture Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace before today’s deadline.

Guehi, who appeared in Palace’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield.

A solution could be reached before the 7 p.m. (UK time) deadline.

If Liverpool signs Guehi, Joe Gomez is likely to depart the club.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who thinks Gomez will join AC Milan if he authorizes the move.

Gomez has been considering his options this summer and has emerged as a target for Milan, who are looking for a new defender after moving Malick Thiaw to Newcastle.

The 28-year-old has been at Liverpool since the summer of 2015, making 243 appearances for the club. He appeared as a substitute in his team’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

Following Liverpool’s stunning victory over Arsenal, Slot was asked about the club’s pursuit of new recruits.

He stated that he would ‘probably’ learn what happens on Sunday night.

“I will hear probably tonight if anything will happen,” he told me.

If Liverpool completes the Isak and Guehi agreements, they will become the club’s eighth and ninth acquisitions of the summer.
