Gary Neville feels only one side can prevent Arsenal from winning the Premier League this season. While Manchester City is now second in the league, the former Manchester United defender has ruled out Pep Guardiola’s team as prospective victors.
The Gunners have made a quick start to the new season, showcasing their title credentials. Mikel Arteta’s club is currently six points clear of second-placed City, having lost only one of their first ten games, winning eight and drawing one.
They are presently the overwhelming favourites for the title, with current results predicting an 89-point finish. It appears that Arsenal will lose, but with so much game yet to play, this is far from guaranteed.
Neville names Arsenal’s sole Premier League competitor.

Despite the fact that there are still months of football to play this season, Neville believes Arsenal will win the title. However, he believes Liverpool has the ability to push them for the title if they can improve their form.
“Arsenal can lose the title from here,” he told NBC. “I understand why Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal players, and even the fans will dismiss the notion that they must win it this season. However, they are the most consistent squad, and they have been building up to this point for three or four seasons.
He went on to remark, “The reason I believe Arsenal will win the league is that you always consider what can stop a club. If Liverpool had lost Virgil van Dijk or Mohamed Salah in prior seasons, they would be in danger. Arsenal’s recent summer purchases, including two center-backs, are unlikely to result in a title loss.
“All positions are covered. Bukayo Saka was such player in the past, but Noni Madueke took over when he was injured. Everywhere, they are adequately doubled up with the same level of quality or only a slight drop.
“Who is going to take it from them? To lose, Arsenal would have to beat themselves. I don’t believe Manchester City will be able to return to their prior level and compete with Arsenal. Pep Guardiola is a genius, but his players and team aren’t performing at the required level. Liverpool is the only team, but they would need to get back on track quickly.

Alan Shearer: Arsenal Have ‘No Weakness’

While Liverpool has a talented roster, recovering from their recent poor performance will require some effort. Despite beating Aston Villa on Saturday, they are still seven points behind the league leaders.
To make matters worse, Arsenal is performing so well that it’s difficult to see where they could lose points. Following their defeat to the Gunners, Burnley manager Scott Parker stated that the north London club possessed “every single ingredient” to win the league, while Alan Shearer of Match of the Day stated that he could not find any flaws in the team.
“I can’t see a weakness,” he remarked. “They scored again off a set piece, but there was so much more to the performance. I appreciate how they put [Riccardo] Calafiori and [Jurrien] Timber in forward positions to create overloads and win set-piece possibilities.”
