Liverpool ‘make decision’ on allowing Trent Alexander-Arnold to join Real Madrid early ahead of Club World Cup

According to reports, Liverpool has decided whether to permit Trent Alexander-Arnold to sign an early contract with Real Madrid.

Following months of conjecture, it was announced earlier this month that Alexander-Arnold will leave Anfield this summer when his contract expires.

In a tearful social media video, the 26-year-old gave an explanation of why he decided to quit his boyhood club.

“This is by far the most difficult choice I have ever had to make in my life,” he remarked.

For twenty years, this club has been my entire world and my entire life. The affection and support I have received from everyone inside and without the club, starting with the Academy, will always be a part of me. You all have my eternal gratitude.”

After leaving Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold is anticipated to sign a free move to Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.

As of right now, Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool contract is scheduled to expire on June 30.

But since the FIFA Club World Cup starts on June 15, Madrid would prefer that he join the team before then.

According to reports, the two clubs could talk about a compensation for Alexander-Arnold’s early release in order for that to occur.

Now, according to a social media post by Madrid Zone and Spanish news agency Diario AS, Madrid will pay Liverpool €2 million for Alexander-Arnold, who will join the team before to the FIFA Club World Cup.

“Real Madrid has offered €2M to Liverpool for Trent to play at the Clubs World Cup, reports Diario AS,” Fabrizio Romano posted on social media.

When Alexander-Arnold replaced Conor Bradley against Arsenal in Liverpool’s first game since his departure was officially announced, the 26-year-old was jeered.

Mohamed Salah, a talisman for Liverpool, seemed unimpressed by the jeers.

He stated: “I believe that the crowd were treating him harshly in some way.

“I think he didn’t deserve it at the time, he deserved the fans to treat him the best way possible because he gave it all to the fans.”

On Monday night, Liverpool will return to Premier League play at the AMEX against Brighton & Hove Albion.
