Liverpool fans demand player leaves club this week despite Newcastle win as perfect replacement named

Liverpool fans are outraged following the 2-2 draw.

Despite Liverpool’s amazing 3-2 victory over Newcastle at St James’ Park, fans are clamoring for a first-team player to depart the club before the transfer market closes.

Four days before his 17th birthday, Rio Ngumoha scored a remarkable winner for Arne Slot’s team against 10-man Newcastle.

Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch and Hugo Ekitike scored in the first half as they retained their perfect Premier League record – albeit after only two games – in spectacular fashion.

Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon was sent off in the first half, but the Magpies kept pushing and cut the deficit in half with a goal from Bruno Guimaraes in the 58th minute.

On 88 minutes, the hosts equalised through substitute William Osula, who scored only his second Premier League goal for the club.

However, Ngumoha had the final word in what will be remembered as one of the greatest Premier League games in recent history.

It was supposed to be a dramatic finish for Eddie Howe’s 10-man Magpies, who were the better side for the majority of the game despite being down a player for half of it, but they ended up on the losing end.

The win was all that mattered for Liverpool, but fans continued to criticize one player throughout the game.

Ibrahima Konate has entered the final year of his contract at Anfield and, after suffering on the season’s opening day against Bournemouth, had another difficult night against Newcastle.

The France centre-back was outmuscled by Dan Burn in the build-up to Newcastle’s equaliser, and he made a costly mistake that nearly led to a goal in the first half.

Konate has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid, and with Liverpool interested in Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, Reds fans believe now is the moment for Konate to join Trent Alexander-Arnold at the Bernabeu.

One wrote after halftime, “Konate is mentally in Madrid. For the most part, it was bleak. “Get Guehi in right away.”

Another said, “Guehi can easily replace Konate. Not sure what’s going on with him? “Pay that extra £5 million tonight.”

A third added, “Konate appears to be completely clocked out. Sign Guehi this week to start and serve as a backup.
