Lisandro Martinez hits back at Man Utd legend Paul Scholes over recent criticism

Lisandro Martinez has provided a response to Paul Scholes in response to the recent allegations made by the Manchester United legend.

Martinez, an Argentine centre-back, sustained a serious knee injury during the 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace earlier in the month, and as a result, he has been ruled out for the remainder of the 24/25 season.

When Scholes was discussing Martinez in a recent episode of The Overlap Fan Debate, which was brought to you by Sky Bet, he questioned whether or not the Argentine is capable of leading United to victory in the Premier League.

He concluded by saying: “Even when he’s fit he’s not good enough to win the Premier League with.”

Currently, Martinez has responded to the former midfielder by retaliating.

A retaliatory move by Lisandro Martinez against Paul Scholes
Martinez posted the following on social media, as reported by the Daily Mail: “This jinx guy is really hurting….If you were to place him in Argentina, he would not be able to survive.

Not only did Scholes target Martinez, but he also targeted other players such as Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro.

Scholes expressed his concern regarding the Dutchman by saying, “His (De Ligt’s) age (25) and his amount of clubs already makes me concerned.” Despite the fact that he was amazing at Ajax, it appears that he is getting worse as he gets older. Bayern Munich and Juventus have both permitted him to leave for an unknown reason.

“What are your goals and aspirations? I am referring to the process of guiding a team to victory in the Premier League. Is it possible that you will be able to win the Premier League with Yoro and De Ligt serving as your centre halves? As a fan, you have expressed that you believe they are quite good. Is it that “quite good” is sufficient?”

He continued by saying, “Look, he’s a young player, but I haven’t liked what I’ve seen so far.” Yoro was the subject of his comments.

Were you able to watch the Southampton match? He is a young player, and if I were to talk about that spine and two centre halves, I would keep him as one of my centre halves.

Martinez has been successful in winning both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup since he moved to Old Trafford from the Dutch club Ajax in 2022 for a reported fee of £55 million. She has also won the FA Cup.
