Lip Reader Claimed Mo Salah Made Big Threat to Klopp During Touchline Spat

In brief
John Cassidy, a lip reader, examined the heated confrontation between Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp.
As Liverpool was held to a 2-2 draw against West Ham United in the Premier League, the Egyptian and his manager got into a heated argument.
The following summer, Klopp departed, and Arne Slot took over as manager of Anfield.
What Mohamed Salah allegedly shouted to Jurgen Klopp during their altercation on the touchline after Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with West Ham United in April 2024 was made public by a lip reader. Seemingly incensed, the Egyptian threatened to have himself sent off.

The Reds would ultimately finish third in 2023–2024 behind Arsenal and Champions Manchester City, and the incident happened as they lost crucial points in their Premier League match. Salah was only sent on to save the game with eleven minutes remaining, and it was said that he was upset with his manager for not starting the match.

In fact, the club legend was about to leave the bench when Michail Antonio scored to make it 2-2. The game would end this way, and it was later revealed how furious the Liverpool winger was under pressure.

Lip Reader Drops Insight on Salah Clash with Klopp

“I will get a red card”

After watching the video of Klopp and Salah, professional lip reader John Cassidy has made a determination on what was said between them. The analyst seems to believe that the incident was very hot, telling SportBible: “When Klopp tried to shake hands with Salah, Salah just feebly slapped Klopp’s hand.”

Then, Salah is claimed to have remarked, “There’s nothing I can do about that, nothing.”

Cassidy continued, saying: “Klopp’s response was cryptic, suggesting Salah wasn’t prepared as soon as Klopp wanted it to be. Klopp approached Salah and said something to annoy him. At last, Salah said:

“I will, I will get a red card, after seven years, after seven years’ service, after seven years!”

Salah’s Future at Liverpool Open to Debate

He is expected to stay amid exit talk

Some calls at the time of the incident suggested that Salah should be given more bench time as a punishment for his irascible outburst. He would, however, start the season’s last three league games, which would be Klopp’s last three games as manager, scoring once and providing an assist in two victories and a tie. Given that the winger was one of the most significant players during his stay, the German didn’t seem to want a bad cloud to hang over their relationship.

Salah was highly connected to a move to the Saudi Pro League, but despite all the drama, there were still concerns that he would leave Liverpool in the summer of 2024. But after Klopp left, the Egyptian stayed and performed admirably under Arne Slot, the new manager.

Under the Dutchman, the 32-year-old appears to have found fresh life and is nearly leading Liverpool to a second Premier League championship on his own. However, as his contract is slated to expire in the summer of 2025, he has yet to commit to the club for the future.
