Lamine Yamal’s response when asked if he knows who Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards are as they interview him on CBS

When Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards questioned the Barcelona star if he had ever heard of them live on CBS, Lamine Yamal brightened their day.

Wednesday night’s Champions League semi-final between Barcelona and Inter Milan ended in a 3-3 draw in Spain, meaning that the second leg next week will be crucial.

Denzel Dumfries of Inter Milan won player of the match, but Yamal of Barcelona once again proved that he is among the world’s top players despite his advanced age by being instrumental in his team’s comeback.

In addition to impressing fans with his on-field performance, the 17-year-old has gained the admiration of some of the sport’s most well-known commentators through live interviews on CBS Sports.

Carragher, Richards, Thierry Henry, and Kate Scott, the fan favorite panel, were live-streaming Thursday’s thrilling Champions League encounter between Barcelona and Inter Milan.

When the commentators asked the players from both teams to select their personal favorite among the four after the game, Yamal made the decision without even thinking twice.

The Barcelona child admitted, “I knew you were going to ask me this question!”

“Thierry Henry, what were you thinking Micah?”

seemed devastated that Yamal ignored them. Then, considering the forward’s age, Carragher and Richards made the decision to question him whether he even knew who they were.

Although Yamal was only five when Carragher retired and eleven when Richards hung up his boots, they were glad to learn that he knew both of them and was obviously a fan.

“Yamal’s my mate,” Carragher jokingly said.
