Lamine Yamal Reveals 2 ‘Iconic’ English Stadiums He Wants to Play in Most

As young adolescent phenoms come, it’s hard to go beyond the record-breaking Lamine Yamal — in fact, you might argue he’s on a similar route to GOAT status like Lionel Messi was back in the day. And the Spaniard, 17, has recently picked two stadiums that he would like to flaunt his stuff inside. Albeit insane to say, Yamal – one of the best players in world football – is still in the infant phases of his soon-to-be illustrious career and, having made just north of a century of appearances for his present employers, there are a number of stadiums still to witness the youngster in action.

Given that he has become one of the world’s most lethal strikers, Yamal has similarities to Messi. However, his increasing technical skill and ability to outscore opponents have drawn comparisons to Neymar.

The Two English Stadiums Yamal Wants to Play In

‘There are so many I’ve yet to experience, especially outside of Europe’

He has excelled against Inter Milan at the San Siro, popped off the page against his team’s bitter rivals at the Santiago Bernabeu, and endured the pressure of Borussia Dortmund’s Yellow Wall, but he still has two stadiums he would like to visit. The teenage phenom has made 102 appearances for Barcelona’s senior team so far in his career, scoring 22 goals and dishing out another 33 assists. If you recall correctly, he also contributed significantly to Spain’s victory over England in Euro 2024. He has four goals in 19 games for La Roja. In addition to his impact on the field, he has become a worldwide celebrity off it. As a result, Dre introduced him as a Beats global ambassador on Friday. The world beater was appointed the CEO of Yamal Records in the campaign (watch it below).

However, leaving aside his best pre-game performance for a moment, Yamal was questioned about the stadiums he would like to play in before his career ends, which is obviously a long way off. According to Daily Mail, he responded: “Especially outside of Europe, there are a lot of things I haven’t yet experienced. Old Trafford and Anfield are two of the most famous stadiums in Europe where I would like to play. Although many people consider Old Trafford, the home of the once-dominant Manchester United, to be among the greatest stadiums in Premier League history, Yamal has not yet performed on the 74,310-seat Theatre of Dreams’ field. The Euro 2024 hero has a short window of time to realise his ambition of playing at Old Trafford, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS-led team aim to replace the venue, which was constructed in 1910, with a modern replacement stadium in five years.

Given that the Reds are more likely to compete in the Champions League in the years to come, Yamal may have the opportunity to cross Anfield, home of Liverpool, off his bucket list. Anfield is usually considered to be one of the most atmospheric stadiums in international football. The Spanish sensation also mentioned his two current fave non-Barcelona players: Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Ousmane Dembele of Paris Saint-Germain: “I think [Ousmane] Dembele or Bukayo Saka are doing really well right now, outside of Barca.”
