Jude Bellingham will return to Birmingham City Clinton Morrison believes it might happen.

Jude Bellingham progressed through the Birmingham City academy system before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2020.

At the age of 17, the midfielder joined for the German giants for an estimated £22.5 million.

Prior to his departure to the Bundesliga, the England international made 41 appearances in the Championship, scoring four goals and assisting twice as the Blues finished 20th in the table. His influence, however, was seismic, and the Blues decided to retire his shirt number after only one senior season in the Second City.

Bellingham played three years with Borussia Dortmund before joining Real Madrid for £88.5 million.

The 22-year-old has already won one La Liga title with Los Blancos and made 78 appearances in the Spanish top level.

The former Birmingham star is one of the game’s biggest names, and he will be looking to play a significant role for England in the World Cup in North America this summer, assuming he is available for selection.

Clinton Morrison makes a Birmingham return claim.

Clinton Morrison has stated that Bellingham would come to Birmingham someday, but it will most likely be much later in his career, even if the team fulfills its goal of returning to the Premier League.

He feels Bellingham’s concentration will be on Real Madrid for a long time, but that by the age of 31 or 32, he may be open to returning to the Midlands team if they can solidify their position in the top flight.

“It simply depends, right? “You never know,” Morrison told GOAL.

“He’s still a good age. Birmingham must first qualify for the Premier League.

“They need to get there and then join the Premier League. Even then, you have consolidation.

“It’s very different from the Championship.

“You can have all the money in the world, but if your players don’t gel or you don’t have the appropriate manager, you’ll suffer.

“So I believe Jude’s priority will be to stay at Real Madrid for as long as possible.”

“And if it comes when he gets to 30, 31, 32 and he wants to come home — I’m sure Birmingham City will take Jude Bellingham back.”

Bellingham has only appeared in 19 La Liga games this season due to fitness difficulties, with Alvaro Arbeloa’s side sitting second in the table.

With only seven games remaining, the Spanish giants are four points behind their fiercest rivals and will also fight in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Bellingham returned to the club for the Madrid derby before the March international break, coming on as a substitute in a 3-2 victory for his first appearance in almost a month.

Meanwhile, Birmingham sit 11th in the Championship table, but 10 points behind the play-offs with only seven games left.

Chris Davies’ side has won just one of their previous six league games, putting them out of contention for a top-six finish.

The Blues’ next game will be at home against relegation-threatened Blackburn Rovers on April 3 at 3pm.

A return to Birmingham for Jude Bellingham is possible in the future.
If Birmingham can achieve their goals and regain their status in the Premier League, there is every reason to assume Bellingham will return.

It won’t be for several years at this stage, unless the Midlands club can suddenly afford a big-money agreement with Real Madrid that includes Champions League football.

However, any form of return would be welcomed by fans at this point, as he is fondly remembered by them despite only spending one season with the squad.

He has gone on to do incredible things since leaving Birmingham, including playing in a Champions League final, and his performance away from St. Andrew’s has made the club proud.
