Jose Mourinho Reacts to Mauro Icardi Calling Him ‘The Crying One’

When it comes to mind games, Jose Mourinho hasn’t lost a beat. During a verbal sparring match between the Fenerbahce manager and the Galatasaray striker, he was at his most funny when he responded to Mauro Icardi.

A contentious penalty was given to the Super Lig leaders, and their new addition, Alvaro Morata, tucked away the spot kick in the 12th minute. As a result, the game between Galatasaray and Adana Demirspor was called off after 30 minutes over the weekend. As the game went on, the manager of the visitors summoned his men, who decided not to participate. As a result, the game was called off.

In response, Mourinho shared a photo of Galatasaray’s Davinson Sanchez getting away with handling the ball in his own penalty box during a 1-0 victory over Gaziantep earlier this month on social media. The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager made care to include the fact that no penalty was given in his growing collection of data against Turkish football “corruption.”

The legendary Portuguese figure responded cynically.

When Icardi responded to the Fenerbache manager’s social media post with a meme of the legendary coach and implied that he was the “crying one,” Mourinho became enraged. The Portuguese, who has often criticized the Turkish Super Lig for alleged “favoritism” by Galatasaray, was eager to bring out a contentious call in a match between his title rivals.

Prior to his team’s match against Belgian team Anderlecht in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, February 13, Mourinho was questioned on Icardi’s post:

“I am sure that I am a special one, not the special one.”

Mourinho went on to say:

Regarding Icardi’s remarks, I will not comment on the words of a great, and Icardi is a GOAT. I won’t comment since he’s too huge.”

After missing out on the title by three points the previous season, Mourinho came to Turkiye in the summer to take charge of a Fenerbahce team eager to regain control of the Super Lig. With 17 victories and two losses in the league, the two-time UEFA Champions League champion’s team is currently in second place, three points behind their bitter rivals.

Due to the’scandal’ he believes is engulfing Turkish football, there has been speculation that the 62-year-old will leave quickly. The three-time Premier League champion manager reportedly has “unfinished business” and wants to return to English football.
