John Eustace has disclosed Derby County’s most recent transfer action, as the Rams aim to maintain their standing as a top-half Championship squad.
Eustace’s men used the January transfer window to sign defender Dion Sanderson and midfielder Oscar Fraulo from Birmingham City and Borussia Monchengladbach, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Rams have enabled the departures of Darren Robinson, Curtis Nelson, and Ebou Adams, the last joining Championship rivals Portsmouth.
Derby recovered from two consecutive home defeats against Wrexham and Leeds United by defeating Preston North End 1-0 at Deepdale on Saturday.
John Eustace outlines how probable Derby County is to add new players before the transfer market ends.

Along with their transfer activities, the Rams are preparing for their Championship encounter with Charlton Athletic at The Valley on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Derbyshire Live reports that Eustace’s men are looking for a wide player before the transfer window ends, though no specific names are mentioned.
Eustace told the outlet about his club’s latest market action, saying, “We will wait and watch. We aim to bring in players who are capable of improving the squad, rather than simply filling vacancies. It’s clear when you look at all of the squads surrounding you, including Preston, who are bringing in all of their big name players. “The squads are strong.”Derby’s squad is ready to fight and scrap for every point. That’s everything I have asked for. I consider myself fortunate to work with a team of dedicated football players that support one another. And if we can bring in one or two to help us improve, we will. But if not, I’m quite satisfied with the squad.”
Derby should have enough quality to have a good Championship season.

The Rams are now just five points below the Championship play-off places, but securing a top-six berth may be difficult for a club that only gained promotion from League One in 2024.
However, Derby has a roster that should be good enough to sustain a top-half campaign, and as Eustace mentioned, they may not need to add to their ranks to do so.
The Pride Park club has quality forwards like Patrick Agyemang, who proved his worth again on Saturday by scoring the only goal as his team upset Preston.
Eustace also has good defenders at his disposal, including former Middlesbrough player Matt Clarke, who has started all 27 of Derby’s Championship games this season.
The Rams have been without their leading scorer, Carlton Morris, owing to injury issues in recent weeks, but the quality of the whole squad has showed through in recent victories against Preston and Boro.
Derby’s ranks will be challenged in their forthcoming games against Charlton, West Brom, and Bristol City, and it remains to be seen how much they will bolster their team before the transfer window closes.
