While at Bayern Munich, Jamal Musiala has developed into one of the most exciting young players in Europe, and Premier League teams may be eager to sign him.
Manchester City hopes to outbid several competitors to acquire Jamal Musiala, the star player for Bayern Munich.
Since moving from Chelsea to the German powerhouses in 2019, the youthful playmaker has excelled. He still has a little over two years left on his current Allianz Arena contract, though, and he hasn’t shown much desire to sign new terms.
This has made it more likely that Musiala will leave Bayern in the near future. Many clubs are considering it. The Independent claims that Man City, the current European champions, are the team most likely to make a move for him. The Etihad’s interest is said to be the most “advanced.”
It has been said that an attacking midfielder is needed, and Musiala fits the bill. Michael Olise of Crystal Palace and Lucas Paqueta of West Ham have been named as substitutes.
Any change, though, would probably require selling one of City’s well-known players. Musiala has previously made it clear that he would consider returning to England.
“The Premier League is the strongest and most attractive league in the world at the moment, but I feel comfortable here and am focused on being successful with Bayern,” he stated in a statement made earlier this season. However, one can never predict what will occur in a few years.
Bayern has already sent out a noncommittal warning to any teams considering a move for the 21-year-old. Chairman Herbert Hainer said in an interview with AbendZeitung: “We are not surprised at all that other clubs view Jamal Musiala as an exceptional player; he demonstrated this once more on Tuesday in Istanbul.
“He knows what he has at FC Bayern and that all doors are open for him here. He has a contract with us through 2026. He seems like someone I want to be around for a very long time. Neither side is in a rush.”
There are other interested parties besides Man City. He is apparently being followed by Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Liverpool.
Musiala is still young, but he already has a strong resume. In addition to being a four-time German champion, he assisted Bayern in winning the Champions League in 2020.
In all competitions so far this season, he has tallied 12 goals and seven assists for Bayern. Additionally, Musiala has made 27 appearances and scored twice for the German national team.
Because he played for the Three Lions until he was under-21, he was previously eligible to represent England. Musiala joined Joachim Low’s squad for Euro 2020 after making his debut for Germany in March 2021.
