Jadon Sancho’s one-word comment on his countryman’s social media post has annoyed Manchester United supporters. Marcus Rashford’s time at Aston Villa officially began yesterday night with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup fourth round.
After falling in the hierarchy under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford, Rashford, 27, decided to join Unai Emery in the Midlands until the summer of 2025, when his future will once again be a topic of discussion, despite interest from Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.
Under the brilliant lights of Villa Park, the Wythenshawe-born star, who replaced Leon Bailey in the second half, made a brief but lovely appearance. More significantly, though, he was playing with a smile on his face and appeared keen to defeat his man, Pedro Porro.
Rashford posted to Instagram after his new team advanced to the next round to express gratitude to the kind home crowd, who applauded his every move, for their “warm welcome.” “I appreciate your kind welcome. Excellent teamwork,” the Carrington alumnus wrote.

While new teammate Morgan Rogers and former wonderkid Ravel Morrison were quick to congratulate the dynamic attacker on his debut, Sancho, who is now on loan at Chelsea, has drawn criticism for the comment made on his countryman’s post.

Like Rashford, Sancho spent the last years of his tenure at the club on the fringes following a public spat with former manager Erik ten Hag. In the summer, he relocated west of the capital, and Enzo Maresca’s team is required to pay £25 million for it.
Sancho’s not-so-subtle celebration of his friend’s football enjoyment away from the Theatre of Dreams was in response to his former teammate’s Instagram post. He typed “Freedom” with two emojis.
🚨 – Sancho to Rashford:
“Freedom 🙏🏼🙌🏼”
This is so EMBARRASSING and UNPROFESSIONAL from Sancho.
Genuinely one of the WORST footballers to ever play for us. Has the worst mentality and attitude I've ever seen. 🤡 pic.twitter.com/Sj0j1HbD70

Old Trafford supporters have responded by expressing their opinions about Sancho and his current loan stay in west London on X (previously Twitter). “I can’t express how grateful I am that Chelsea is required to purchase,” one person stated.
“Out of all the football players, this one has the worst mindset. In response to Sancho’s comeback of two goals and six assists at Stamford Bridge, one remarked, “Talks a hell of a lot only to drop a disasterclass every week,” while another questioned his professionalism.
Who are these two top “professionals,” huh? It is understandable why this group has the mindset that it does. These men were reportedly idolised by young athletes. Sancho in particular is incredibly pitiful and terrible.
“Man Utd was never the problem,” one supporter implied, implying that the team is not the graveyard that many portray it to be. These entitled brats are to blame. “It’s embarrassing that he played for our club,” someone else commented. “The guy is a joke!” concluded a final fan. attempting to be disrespectful to the club.
