Jadon Sancho sends pointed message to Man Utd after big impact on Chelsea debut

Jadon Sancho commended Chelsea for the reception they have shown to him during his turbulent period at Manchester United.

Sancho was excluded by United manager Erik ten Hag last season, concluding the year on loan at Borussia Dortmund following a public spat with the management. He was reintegrated this summer, participating as a substitute in the Community Shield, but was not utilised in either of the initial league matches of the season.

The winger, an ardent Chelsea supporter, received an opportunity from the Blues on deadline day. He transferred to Stamford Bridge on loan, with a purported commitment to purchase next summer, resulting in a significant loss for United on the £73 million acquisition.

Sancho made his first Premier League appearance in over a year as a substitute for Chelsea against Bournemouth. He made an immediate impact by assisting a late goal for fellow replacement Christopher Nkunku.

“Firstly, it is remarkable to make my debut for Chelsea,” Sancho stated to Sky Sports following the 1-0 victory. I am really pleased to be back playing. The squad performed admirably, and we are pleased with the acquisition of three points.

I have diligently prepared for this time and I am pleased to have received my opportunity. I concluded the previous season successfully by participating in the Champions League final. I am pleased to make my debut with Chelsea. I must express my gratitude to all the personnel and my colleagues. Upon my initial arrival, I was greeted with warmth, and I am really pleased to experience such comfort.

After the victory, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca was enquired about Sancho. Although Ten Hag alluded to “strict lines” about Sancho’s conduct last season, the Italian has expressed satisfaction with the player’s attitude thus far.

“I perceive no issues concerning Jadon [Sancho] or Joao [Felix]; I honestly observe nothing negative,” Maresca stated to Sky Sports. “Jadon is an exceptional player, and I am aware, due to my familiarity with him, that he possesses the capability to assist us significantly.” I am indifferent to the surrounding sounds. He exhibits much politeness in our presence and demonstrates commendable training performance both on and off the ball. We are pleased for him.

“He [Sancho] performed precisely as anticipated, and Tosin Adarabioyo and Christopher Nkunku exhibited similar comportment,” Maresca stated in a separate interview on Match of the Day. Joao Felix performed quite well. All the individuals from the bench performed quite well.

“We were generating opportunities and required slightly greater quality within the penalty area, which he [Sancho] provided.” Nkunku is not in the starting lineup, however he is performing really well.
