Jadon Sancho hasn’t played for Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United since August, but following his loan stint at Borussia Dortmund, he may be headed back home.
According to rumors, Jadon Sancho, a Manchester United outcast, purchased a new house next door from United manager Erik ten Hag.
The 24-year-old Sancho’s last United game was in August 2023. After the winger was left out of the squad for a game against Arsenal in early September, Ten Hag and Sancho had a public falling out that led to Dortmund re-signing Sancho on loan in January.
His performances since returning to Signal Iduna Park have pleased the Bundesliga team, and he may win the Champions League at the end of the campaign. However, there are still concerns about Dortmund’s capacity to pay for a long-term relocation, so he might return to United the following season.
Sancho reportedly spent a lot of money on a £3.8 million home in Hale, Greater Manchester, according to The Sun. Furthermore, the same newspaper claims that Ten Hag’s own house is only a short distance away.
Among the amenities of Sancho’s new residence are reportedly an indoor pool, a movie theater, and five bedrooms. Ten Hag’s place is thought to be ‘a few minutes walk’ away.
Ten Hag stated at the beginning of May that United had sent representatives to several Dortmund games this season. At least it acknowledged that Sancho is still regarded as a United player, even though it wasn’t quite an admission that the player will be reintegrated under the Dutchman.
On the player’s future, however, no decision is anticipated until the end of the season. While Sancho is expected to start for Dortmund against Real Madrid in the Champions League final at Wembley, United still has a chance to advance to Europe through the Premier League or FA Cup.
“We’re going to games,” Ten Hag declared. “We saw more Dortmund games where Jadon was performing, though I wouldn’t say we saw every one of them.
“We also paid him a visit and spoke with him while he was staying there, and we will continue this process by staying in touch and communicating with him all the time. We will find out in the summer what transpires after our four crucial league games and the FA Cup final.”
Sebastian Kehl, the sporting director of Dortmund, was questioned regarding Sancho’s future the same week that Ten Hag made his remarks. In an interview with TNT Sports, he also discussed Ian Maatsen, another Chelsea loanee who may decide to leave the club permanently this summer.
Kehl said, “We will see,” to TNT Sports prior to Dortmund’s Champions League final victory over Paris Saint-Germain. “Both of them are on loan, and we will ultimately have to make a decision.
“They are obviously bound by contracts with their clubs, so we will reach out to them at a specific time and determine whether or not it is feasible.” I am aware that the players—especially Jadon—feel quite at home and welcome in Dortmund.
“I believe that taking them was a wise choice. However, let’s not lose sight of the present and remember that this is something for the future.”
