It is not the only club’ – Liverpool boss Arne Slot calls out three Premier League rivals’ spending in response to Erling Haaland’s new ten-year contract

Arne Slot, the manager of Liverpool, has made a statement on the lavish expenditure that occurs in the Premier League. He has specifically brought attention to Manchester City’s recent ten-year contract renewal with Erling Haaland, which is apparently earning an astounding £500,000 per week.

It was emphasised by Slot that Manchester City is not the only team in the league that possesses enormous financial strength. He mentioned Chelsea and Manchester United as other clubs in the league who make huge expenditures. Upon deeper scrutiny, Chelsea has been the most expensive club in the world since 2016, having spent an astounding £2.04 billion. In comparison, Manchester City and Manchester United have each invested around £1.5 billion.

The expenditure of Liverpool, on the other hand, has been more responsible, amounting to a total of 940 million pounds since 2016. Slot is unwavering in his belief that his squad is capable of competing with the giants of the Premier League, despite the significant disparity between the two teams.

The strong competitiveness and huge stakes that are present in the Premier League are what Slot finds appealing about the league. He understood that Liverpool is full of confidence in its existing lineup and is completely committed to competing with the best teams, despite the fact that the club might not always be in the lead when it comes to spending.
