Ipswich Town has had a successful transfer history, including winning the UEFA Cup in 1981.
Some of the Tractor Boys’ most famous victories have occurred in recent years, as Kieran McKenna guided the Portman Road club to consecutive promotions from League One to the Premier League.
Ipswich had their best season in 1962, when they won the top tier title, and other notable triumphs include their FA Cup victory in 1978.
Throughout their history, Tractor Boys fans have been treated to a number of outstanding players, including old-school luminaries like Mick Mills and modern-day cult icons like former Southampton attacker David McGoldrick.
Daryl Murphy became an Ipswich Town icon after signing from Celtic.

Daryl Murphy provided Ipswich supporters with many good memories, during three consecutive spells with the Suffolk club.
The former striker joined the Portman Road club on loan from Sunderland in the middle of the 2009/10 Championship season, teaming up with his old Black Cats manager Roy Keane.
During his time with the Tractor Boys, the Ireland international scored six goals and provided one assist in 18 league matches, helping his team finish 15th in the second division.
Murphy had further loan spells with Ipswich throughout the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons before signing on a permanent basis in the summer of 2013.

The former Sunderland player, who was released by Celtic, expressed his delight at joining Ipswich Town on a permanent basis, saying, “I had a chat with the manager (Mick McCarthy) at the end of the season, and I’m pleased to get the deal done and finally be an Ipswich player.”It’s widely documented that I enjoy being in Ipswich, and I made it clear that I intended to return.”
The striker demonstrated his ability in the 2013/14 Championship season, scoring 13 goals in 45 league appearances, and his career-best return came in Tractor Boys colours the following season, when he scored 27 goals and assisted six times as an ever-present member of McCarthy’s team.
Murphy’s prolific performances in the 2014/15 season helped Ipswich secure a second-tier play-off spot, which they would never achieve again before being relegated to League One in 2019.
Town fans may never forget the Ireland international’s spectacular goal in a 2-0 victory over Brighton in September 2014, when he grabbed onto Tyrone Mings’ long ball and fired home a first-time effort from 18 yards out.
He went on to win the Championship Player of the Month award in December of that year after scoring six goals, including braces against Leeds United and Brentford.
Murphy followed up his outstanding 2014/15 season with 10 goals and four assists in 2015/16, before joining Newcastle United the following summer.
His tenure at the Magpies was less fruitful, with only 15 league games for the North East club before a permanent move to Nottingham Forest.
The forward then played for Bolton Wanderers in League One and Waterford in Ireland before retiring, although he was never able to reach the heights he reached with Ipswich.
Ipswich Town fans may find it difficult to believe Darly Murphy was signed on a free transfer.

Murphy scored an astounding 99 goals in three stints with Ipswich, including 50 as a permanent Tractor Boys member.
Because the Ireland international had such a good career at Portman Road, fans may find it difficult to believe he joined the club on a free transfer in 2013.
Murphy made only 10 starts for Celtic over three years, whereas Ipswich struck gold when they signed him during McCarthy’s tenure.
