Injury Expert Casts Verdict on How Long Arsenal’s Gabriel Will be Out

An injury expert has now given an opinion on how long Arsenal could be without Gabriel following his most recent setback during the Gunners’ 2-1 Premier League victory over Fulham on Tuesday night. Mikel Arteta simply can’t seem to get a break these days. After just 16 minutes, the star defender—who is currently regarded as one of the best in the world—was substituted out due to what seemed to be a hamstring injury.

There is now a revolving door issue in Arsenal’s treatment room. Gabriel might now have to spend a lot of time on the sidelines, just as Bukayo Saka was included in the team for the first time since sustaining a hamstring injury on December 21 and scored a goal after coming off the bench. He would be added to the injury list among players like Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal supporters’ reactions to Bukayo Saka’s first appearance in 101 days against Fulham
For the first time in three months, Bukayo Saka returned to play, and Arsenal supporters expressed their emotions.

At this pivotal point in the season, Arteta’s team is aiming for a Champions League quarterfinal matchup with holders Real Madrid next week after momentarily cutting the gap between themselves and league leaders Liverpool to nine points before the Reds play Everton on Wednesday night.

Gabriel’s injury is determined by an injury expert; scans are required to rule out a hamstring injury.

According to an evaluation of Gabriel’s injuries by X account @physioscout, he might miss anything from a few days to six weeks. The injury seems to have been sustained by the Brazil international while running back in a defensive transition.

The injury specialist stated (see complete analysis below) that “he’ll need scans to assess the severity of the injury, and hamstring injuries vary in terms of recovery time.” The expert then added:

Instead of hamstring tightness, sprinting processes usually result in hamstring strains. Possible Recuperation Times: Not more than a week if the tightness 2-4 weeks for grade 1; 4-6 weeks for grade 2.

Gabriel’s worst-case scenario, if the analysis is correct, would be his return to first-team play on May 13. For the two legs of Arsenal’s Champions League quarterfinal matchup against Real Madrid and their potentially title-deciding matchup with Liverpool, which is presently set for May 10, William Saliba would be without his favourite defensive partner.
