Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to a podcast’s comments on his new Al-Nassr colleague and compatriot Joao Felix.
As is customary in modern football, the 2025 summer transfer window was particularly busy, with a plethora of players seeking new challenges. According to the BBC, Joao Felix left Chelsea for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia for a fee of more than £40 million.
Felix, who was once considered as a potential superstar at Benfica, joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last summer after spending time on loan with the Blues in 2023. Felix joined Enzo Maresca’s already well-stocked attacking squad and appeared in 20 games across all competitions before joining AC Milan on loan in January.
Felix’s time in Milan was quite uneventful, but many were astonished to see the attacker relocate to Saudi Arabia. Not only is he still in his mid-20s, but Felix cost more than £100 million when he joined Atletico in 2019, with no one expecting him to be playing in the Middle East just six years later.
Felix has joined Al-Nassr alongside a number of well-known players, the most prominent of which is the renowned Cristiano Ronaldo, who is still playing for the club at the age of 40. Following comments made about Felix on a podcast, the former Real Madrid forward stepped out in support of his international and now domestic teammate.
Ronaldo Slams Podcaster For Felix Comments

According to SPORTbible, the Chuveirinho podcast recently questioned Felix’s transfer to Saudi Arabia, questioning why the forward would leave European football as he approaches what should be the peak years of his career. In response to a post on Instagram, Ronaldo wrote:
“Idiots don’t understand anything about football, yet they still give their opinions.”
Ronaldo has maintained his incredible goalscoring form since joining Al-Nassr in 2023, but he would be well aware that, other from the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup, he has won no further silverware in Saudi Arabia to yet.
By bringing in a player of Felix’s caliber to play alongside the Portuguese international, Al-Nassr may now be in a situation where Ronaldo can finally assist the club win another trophy.
