Speculation has circulated that the England captain could return to Premier League action.
After a spectacular Champions League goal against Arsenal on his return to England this week, Harry Kane has finally spoken out about rumors linking him to a permanent move back to the nation.
It was shocking for the Premier League when Kane, who had many opportunities to stay in England, chose to leave for the Bundesliga in the summer.
After Manchester United pulled out of the bidding for the striker, rumors of a transfer resurfaced.
Twelve months earlier, Tottenham Hotspur president Daniel Levy had blocked a move for Kane to Manchester City.
There have been rumours about a return to the Premier League for Kane since his summer mega transfer to Bayern Munich. This is particularly true given that he was close to surpassing Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record.
United manager Erik ten Hag is a major Kane fan and wanted to sign him to Old Trafford. However, rumors have swirled anew that United could make a move for the player since Sir Jim Ratcliffe became a co-owner.
The England captain, nevertheless, has put an end to any doubts about his future by adamantly stating that he will remain a Bayern Munich player.
According to him, moving to Germany was a necessary step for his career because it provided a new challenge, a change of scenery, and the opportunity to play for different clubs and venues. He is now thoroughly enjoying his time in Germany.
Since I have played in the Premier League for a long time and see my future at Bayern Munich, I am well aware of the league’s magnitude.
With any luck, I’ll be able to accomplish something noteworthy this season; I’m thoroughly enjoying my four-year contract.
However, come summertime, I will be prepared to try again and perhaps turn things around. Especially when contrasted with Leverkusen’s performance, this Bundesliga season has been underwhelming.
“Acceptance and respect are due to them, but we seized the opportunity to demonstrate our unity at Arsenal, and we have done just that.”
United were dissuaded from attempting to acquire Tottenham’s star striker, Kane, by chairman David Levy’s reluctance to trade Kane to any Premier League side, even if Kane was Ten Hag’s first choice. After deciding they would not engage in “playing games” with Levy, United focused on Rasmus Hojlund, who joined from Atalanta for £72 million.
“We consider a lot of things but finally we make decisions. There is a strategy behind every decision and we are happy with the squad we have behind us now,” Ten Hag stated regarding the deal.
A striker has been selected, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. Kane is, without a doubt, an excellent striker. A goal-scorer with all the other attributes and skills one could want from a striker. Without a doubt, the Premier League will be disappointed.
Bayer Leverkusen, coached by Xabi Alonso, is poised to defeat Bayern, who have failed to impress this season in the league. On the other hand, Kane has had yet another campaign filled with personal accomplishments. He scored 39 goals in 38 appearances before his penalty against Arsenal.
United, on the other hand, is considering a summer transfer of a star forward. They have been associated with Kane, Victor Oshimen, and Ivan Toney, among others. Having invested heavily in Hojlund last summer, though, the expectation is that they will give the young Dane room to thrive.
