‘I don’t see a plan’ – Marcus Rashford urged to leave Man Utd after ‘strange’ £206m transfer splurge as club legend claims struggling forward has been unfairly made a scapegoat

Despite Manchester United’s continued £206 million signing binge, Marcus Rashford has been advised to quit the team because there is no long-term “plan” in place.

Forward is having trouble regaining his form, and the Red Devils have been spending
Inconsistency as a group

In addition to regularly bringing in new players, the Red Devils have secured a regular spot for homegrown talent Rashford. He has made 406 appearances and scored 131 goals in his ten seasons as a senior starter at Old Trafford.

After scoring thirty goals in 2022–2023 and only eight the previous season, concerns over Rashford’s future remain. Another graduate of the illustrious United development system, ex-star Nicky Butt, told talkSPORT what is wrong with Rashford: I’ve known Marcus since he was maybe eight or nine years old when he was coming through at Man United, and he’s always been the one you hold out hope for, so I don’t know and it’s really painful witnessing that. Though I’m sure people are calling him on the phone right now, I still think he has the skill to be among the world’s finest players. You keep saying he’s simply going to do it, but it seems like maybe it’s time for a change for him. He hasn’t been connecting at Man United for the past several years.

“That man is a fantastic football player with a lot of talent, but nobody really knows what his mentality is.” However, it’s simply not working out for Man United right now. People frequently bring up his body language, which suggests that he doesn’t care. I can assure you, though, that he does care; he’s a proper guy; it’s just that he doesn’t click. Perhaps he should get to a club where he can take a little deep breather and where people don’t stare at him all the time. He serves as the team’s justification, and while many fans focus on him, the entire group has to step up their game.
Although United has spent an additional £206 million ($270 million) on new players, including Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte, Butt has grave concerns about the Manchester United recruitment process. “I see no plan in the project, in the signings, and I have no idea what kind of players they’re going for,” he continued. At Man United, their approach to player acquisition and recruiting is very different.

However, the guys we’re bringing on board aren’t exactly household names at their teams. They are only passable athletes. It’s interesting that Man United seems to be on the market to purchase individuals who may not have even been playing for their respective teams the previous season. In the past, we would go out and sign the greatest players. For me, none of the new additions shouts Premier League contender. I believe that Man United’s current goal is to assemble a team primarily focused on returning to Europe. After a humiliating 3-0 loss to fierce rivals Liverpool in their most recent match, United has only collected three points from as many Premier League games in 2024–2025. As a result, more pressure is being placed on Dutch coach Erik ten Hag as he attempts to get the most out of an expensively assembled team.
