I sobbed so hard when He informed me He will be leaving us by January; without Him, we’re meaningless on the pitch.” Zinchenko broke down in tears at a news conference as another Arsenal important player confirms departure by January. Not Saka, not Martinelli
Mikel Arteta’s future plans don’t include the forgotten Arsenal star.
Mikel Arteta’s intentions no longer include an Arsenal star, as he prepares to leave the club during the January transfer window.
It has been reported that a forgotten Arsenal player is not in manager Mikel Arteta’s plans and is set to depart the club during the January transfer window.
After returning from a mostly disastrous loan spell with Real Sociedad, Kieran Tierney appeared set to leave Arsenal during the summer transfer window.
However, after the left-back sustained a tournament-ending injury during Scotland’s Euro 2024 group stage encounter against Switzerland, which the Tartan Army lost 1-1, the club’s intentions to sign Tierney were abandoned owing to his hamstring problem.
Despite having recovered from his injury, Tierney has yet to appear in a matchday squad for the Gunners this season, with some forgetting he is still an Arsenal player.
According to reputable Arsenal writer Charles Watts, the 27-year-old is no longer in Arteta’s plans and is slated to depart the club in the near future.
Watts told CaughtOffside: “Kieran Tierney is no longer in Mikel Arteta’s plans.” There is no enmity present. He understands that the club has moved on and that his skills as a left-back are not required in Arsenal’s current system.
“Tierney is still working his way back to full health after suffering a severe hamstring injury at the Euros. Tierney would most likely be playing for another club right now if his injury had not occurred.
“He will hope to get a move in January, probably on loan, so he can get some minutes somewhere ahead of the summer when he can try & secure a permanent move away.”
Despite his injury-plagued Arsenal career, Tierney has always been a fan favourite, and fans have shown their sympathies for him with the new information on his future.
One such supporter stated, “I believe it is completely insulting to a player who was our finest player throughout the tough days. It’s terrible, and I understand it is the way it is, but certain players appear to be protected more than others,” on X (previously Twitter).
