Bruno Fernandez said, “I cried so hard when He told me He will be leaving us by January, because without Him I’m useless on the pitch,” during a news conference following the confirmation of another important Man United player’s departure by January.
Christian Eriksen is set to leave Manchester United for nothing because Ajax is interested in a possible reunion with the star.
United appeared eager to get rid of the Denmark international during the summer transfer window in order to turn a profit on the player, who was approaching the end of his contract. The Peoples Person cited a story that said Eriksen could be allowed to “leave for €5m” by the Mancunian giants.
The 32-year-old did, however, stay at Old Trafford and, rather surprisingly, has turned out to be one of Erik ten Hag’s greatest performers thus far this year.
With eight appearances for Eriksen so far in all competitions, the Dutchman has mainly disregarded both Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte.
The team that frequently struggles to manage the speed of the game has benefited from the former Tottenham Hotspur player’s technical security in possession. Additionally, he has personally contributed to six goals.
According to The Sun, United executives are “not expected” to offer him a new contract despite his recent upsurge in form.
Come January 1, the midfield player will be free to sign a pre-contract with a team outside of England, or he can depart in the summer of 2025.
Eriksen, who moved from Brentford to United in 2022, is reportedly in “high demand,” with Ajax, his previous team, “leading the way in trying to sign him.”
Before heading to England to play for Spurs, the Dane, a graduate of Ajax’s renowned academy, earned over 100 senior matches for the Dutch powerhouse.
He may be able to wrap up his career where it all began as his previous team is apparently keeping an eye on his circumstances and could be willing to offer him a three-year contract.
Clubs in America and Saudi Arabia are reportedly interested in Eriksen as well, but it’s said that the prospect of making a “fairytale return” to Amsterdam appeals to him.
In order to get Eriksen’s signature before the summer transfer, Ajax is hoping to reach a deal with him in the new year.
