‘I Asked Arsene Wenger Who Arsenal Must Sign This Summer – He Didn’t Even Hesitate’

Arsene Wenger, the former manager of Arsenal, disclosed the name of the player he thinks the Gunners ought to sign this summer. With three Premier League titles, including one “Invincible” season, seven FA Cups, and seven Community Shields, Wenger is still the most successful manager in the club’s history.

Towards the end of his time, the North London team’s performance declined, and this trend persisted under Unai Emery. They have, however, returned to contention under Mikel Arteta, who has led them to second place in the league for the last three seasons. One of Wenger’s former players shared a chat he had with the Frenchman, in which he named the one superstar he would sign to help break the two-decade league title drought, highlighting the importance of overcoming that last obstacle.

Wenger Claims Arsenal Must Sign Alexander Isak

The Newcastle striker was heavily linked with a move in January

According to The Mirror, former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman stated on the Seaman Says podcast that he had discussed the impending transfer window with Wenger and asked his old coach who he would pursue if he were still in charge:

“I asked Arsene Wenger that question during a charity dinner we had roughly three weeks ago. “You are in charge. Who would you sign this summer?” I asked. As quickly as that, he said, “Isak.”

Legendary Arsenal striker Ian Wright, who also appeared on the show, concurred with the idea, saying: “Exactly. He’s amazing, but that’s not to belittle them (Newcastle).

Isak stayed at St. James’ Park and is a hot topic heading into the summer transfer season, after being strongly linked to a move to the Emirates during the January transfer window. It’s unclear if the Swede will stay with the Magpie or make what would undoubtedly be a profitable move elsewhere, though, since the Gunners appear to be focusing on Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig instead.

The 25-year-old scored in Newcastle’s Carabao Cup final triumph against Liverpool in February and concluded the 24/25 season with a personal-best 29 goal contributions (23 goals and 6 assists) in the Premier League, helping Newcastle secure a Champions League berth.
