Another season of English top flight football came to an end as Liverpool paraded with the Premier League trophy in the air. While Southampton, Leicester City, and Ipswich Town were relegated to England’s second division, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur ended in the bottom half. Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Newcastle United were awarded Champions League football.
The amount of domestic prize money that each club—from the Reds, who won the title, to the three relegated teams—will receive is still up for debate. With a wealth of facts at their disposal, the people at The Athletic have made a number of reasonable predictions despite not having the precise number at hand (the Premier League revealed them in June 2024 for the previous season).
20-16 Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, Ipswich Town, and Southampton
It should come as no surprise that the three demoted teams will have the lowest incomes, but the numbers are not to be taken lightly. It is anticipated that Southampton, one of the worst teams in Premier League history, will make approximately £110.9 million.
After losing to relegation, Ipswich Town and Leicester City are also getting ready for a stint in the Championship; nevertheless, they stand to gain £112.9 million and £119.2 million, respectively, from their season in the top division. This summer, both teams must make wise investments.
Vitor Pereira’s arrival preserved Wolverhampton Wanderers’ season, as seen by his seven-game winning streak from March to April. The Old Gold will receive £125.8 million after ultimately finishing in 16th place in the league.
Tottenham Hotspur, the Europa League winners this season, had a challenging domestic campaign. It was never in the cards for them to finish 17th in the preseason, but they did, and they will receive £130.4 million for it.

15–11 Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Fulham, Everton, and West Ham United
Both David Moyes’ Everton and Graham Potter’s West Ham United had wild seasons in 2024–2025, but neither team was able to finish in the top half of the standings. For their Premier League heroics from the previous season, they are expected to receive £134 million and £135.2 million, respectively.
Amorim, one of the greatest young managers in international football, and his Manchester United team will always draw interest, even though they finished the season in 15th place. Their facility costs also speak for themselves. The Red Devils are expected to receive around £139.5 million in total.
Although defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup final was Crystal Palace’s high point this season, they may still earn almost £139.8 million if they finish in 12th position. They might be the dark horse of the top division if Oliver Glasner uses that effectively.

10-6 Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Brighton & Hove Albion, Bournemouth, and Brentford
Following a season of close calls, Thomas Frank’s Brentford and Bournemouth, coached by the dynamic Andoni Iraola, are still among the largest English teams to have never taken home a major prize. They placed ninth and tenth in the Premier League, respectively.
Consequently, the Premier League is expected to pay them both little under £150 million. Brighton & Hove Albion is also just outside of European qualification after finishing four points behind Nottingham Forest.
The Garibaldi’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League were dashed by a sharp decline in performance, and The Athletic projects that they will earn £157.5 million for placing seventh. With so many stars drawing attention, that would be useful.
Aston Villa discovered their fate after losing to Manchester United 2-0 on the last day: they would play in the Europa League rather than against the best. As a result, Unai Emery and his team are expected to increase their summer transfer budget by £164.6 million.

Newcastle United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool
Newcastle United supporters believe they are back where they belong: winning a Champions League spot. Alexander Isak led the Magpies to fifth place, and their appealing style of play might bring in £165.8 million.
Eddie Howe’s team advances to the top table of Europe, followed by Chelsea and Manchester City, respectively. Despite both teams’ subpar performances, a top four finish was possible due to the caliber of their star-studded squads. Both of them are anticipated to make more than £165 million but less than £170 million.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, who once again finished the season without a title, are earning the second-highest for the third consecutive season. The North Londoners are expected to make £177.8 million when 29 of their 2024–25 league games were televised.
Arne Slot, who is considered to be among the greatest football managers in the world, and his team are expected to earn a record amount of money for a Premier League team, according to a report from The Athletic. It is anticipated that they will receive a striking £181.5 million.
